San Francisco captures the heartbreaking beauty and joy of San Francisco, and the tragedies hidden around its corners. We are five SF-based filmmakers, passionately in love with this city, whose stories have caught the spirit of the city in this moment. We need your help to get this film on screen.

Story
Mission Statement
We are five SF-based filmmakers, three women and two men, working hard to capture the diversity of San Francisco. Our expansive cast represents the wide ethnic variety of people living here. The majority of our leads are PoC. Our crew is drawn from the Bay Area, with a wide range of PoC & LGBTQ.About The Project
Seven by Seven is an anthology film where the stories of numerous characters weave together to show San Francisco as it is today: beautiful, troubled, thrilling, melancholy, and hilarious. (After reading here, check out our websiteJ
Nina is new to the city, and her friend Mikey wants to show her its beauty before they go to Burning Man together.
(Actors Robert Henningsen "Mikey" and Linnae Dosumu-Johnson "Nina" mugging between scenes.)
Along the way we meet Plato, a homeless man whose clever signs get him discovered as an “outsider” artist;
(Actors Chris Marsol "Plato" and Bettina Devin "Grace" at the premiere for their chapter of the film.)
Marwan, a public defender trying to lift his poet cousin out of a deep depression with the Golden Gate Bridge looming in the background;
(Actors Carlos Flores "Andy," and Alex Garcia "Marwan" swap stories between scenes at the SF waterfront.)
Connie, a young tech temp-worker who can’t afford to live anywhere, and finds dates on Tinder to have a place to sleep on the weekends;
(Adrienne Thomas "Connie" discusses that most San Franciscan ritual, Sunday Brunch, with actor Tony Gapastione "Adam.")
Mel, a wealthy young socialite, her famous hippie/author grandfather, and their immigrant event planner living as an unlikely family—but torn apart by a marriage proposal.
(Bert Van Aalsburg "Ulee" regales Andrea Martzipan "Mel" with stories of the stage & screen between shots.)
Not since Robert Altman’s Short Cuts has there been a film that portrays such a wide range of human stories. A city of dreamers and immigrants, of old gold money, and new tech schemes, of people living under tarps by the side of the road, and young artists finding new neighborhoods, of bridges to the past and future.
With elements of comedy, drama, and romance, in a city known for its heart- breaking beauty, Seven by Seven unfolds San Francisco in the first quarter of the new century in a city where nothing can stay the same.

Alisha McCutcheon (Cinematographer/Director/Producer) a West Virginia native, has adopted San Francisco as her home. She fell in love with the movies as a child sitting in the one-screen theater of her tiny home town. However, she didn’t realize that making them was a possibility until, as a lark, she took a film class at SF City College in 2005. Since then she has directed two shorts, has over 14 cinematography credits, and has worked as Assistant Director or in Camera Department for numerous other films.
