Mission Statement

"A Harmony Boys Christmas" has been bringing joy to LA audiences for a decade with their satirical take on televised Christmas specials of yesteryear. It invites us to view the present through the lens of the past as we realize with deep chagrin (and bangin' harmonies) how little has really changed.

The Story

"A hysterical, satirical musical rhapsody in political incorrectness." -- Broadway World

What do you get when you fuse the crooning Christmas stylings of Bing Crosby and Andy Williams with the immaculate rudeness of South Park? Well, friends, you're about to find out!

For 10 years, The Harmony Boys have entertained thousands across Los Angeles with their hilarious and harmonious live shows. A Harmony Boys Christmas won the Producer's Encore Award and Pick of the Fringe at the Los Angeles Fringe Festival in 2017, and Best Variety Show Musical/Comedy at the LA Stage Scene Awards in 2018.

And now, we're launching this fundraising page for our very first, full-length Christmas album. The funds raised here will go to arranging, recording, producing, mixing and mastering some of the finest - and funniest - holiday recordings to hit your earholes in years. This album is a compilation, chosen from 10 years of the best bits and best musical numbers ever presented on stage... such as:

Harmony Boys LIVE at the Three Clubs in Hollywood

A Harmony Boys Christmas (Album Synopsis): It's Christmas Eve, 1963. And Billy Harmon -- a boozy, crooning legend -- is spending a lonely Christmas reminiscing about his glory days with The Harmony Boys, the famous male quartet from Altoona, Pennsylvania. But wouldn't you know it? The other three Harmony Boys pop by unexpectedly and surprise Billy at his cozy country cabin! There's playboy and solo success Bobby, closeted basso Barry, and diversity quota Xian Ling Moon (a Chinese immigrant who never learned English, only the songs and jokes!). The Boys entertain in true 1960s style, with vintage holiday hits like "White Christmas" and "Holiday Season" - as well as some of their own highly questionable original tunes... such as:

Harmony Boys original song "Little Christmas Treasures"

And look out for some era-appropriate commercial jingles from the bubbly and titillating female trio, The Fabulous Harmonettes... with a surprise visit from You-Know-Who ;)

With your generous donations, we hope to have the album recorded, mastered, and pressed onto genuine vinyl by Christmas of 2024. After hitting our goal, we'll be recording A Harmony Boys Christmas Album with our friends at the renowned Hear No Evil Studio in Orange County, CA. Photos below:

Hear No Evil Studio - Orange County, CA

Hear No Evil Studio is the most popular and highest-rated commercial studio in Orange County. The studio was established in 2011 by engineer/musician Elliot Koenig and has been the musical home of thousands of incredible musicians, podcasters, authors, and voice actors. Their client includes: Morris Day, Big Daddy Cane, Harper Collins, Rampage Jackson, Netflix, Hulu, Stone Sour, Simon & Shuster, and DJ Cassidy.

The Studio is equipped with a harmonious balance of classic equipment and state-of-the-art technology, and houses three recording rooms, a control room, and a dedicated analog mastering suite.

We can't wait for you to hear what we've got in store for you!

The Harmony Boys have a robust (fake) history. Each show, the audience is given a program that includes the "Wikipedia" entry for the Boys to give them a taste of what's to come. We'll have all that information in the liner notes of the album as well, so that everyone can become an expert Harmony Boys historian even before the needle drops. Here are some of their most famous (fake) albums:

The Harmony Boys have several (fake) commercial partnerships with many wonderful (real) products - all made right here in the good 'ole USA. And the Harmony Boys aren't just spokesmen - they're also loyal customers!

About This Team

Aaron Matijasic (Billy Harmony)

Aaron is an award-winning screenwriter, songwriter, actor, and creator of the Harmony Boys. Originally a nice midwestern boy from Ohio, he was mercifully corrupted by the siren song of the godless coastal elites of Los Angeles. When he's not singing with the Harmony Boys, he tours the country as a cast member and contributing writer with the sketch political musical troupe Capitol Comedy. He holds a BFA from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts.

Al Rahn (Bobby Harmony)

Since graduating from USC with the rest of the boys, Al has been sort of a "jack-of-all-trades" in the entertainment world, from editing, to directing, to singing in a band, and - most lucratively - bartending. In 2018 Al co-produced a full-length rock album with former Smashing Pumpkins producer Bjorn Thorsrud. He has pulled together a fantastic production team for this project and is looking forward to getting back in the studio and overseeing the recording process. In his "non-Harmony time", Al is the owner of a cocktail catering company in L.A. and father of one young Harmony Boy in training.

Gabriel Oliva (Barry Harmony)

Gabriel is a half Spanish/half San Diegan actor/singer/writer/director who loves multi-hyphenates (apparently). He spent 10 years in the Dapper Dans of Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom's resident barbershop quartet. You might have seen Gabriel in films like "Promising Young Woman" or TV series like "The Dropout".

Mike Hoy (Xian Ling Moon Harmony)

Mike is very busy and important and thus has not yet had time to complete his bio. But rest assured, when he does, it will curl your toes and blow your nips clean off.
