The Story
In an act of desperation, a ruthless gangster kidnaps a Mennonite pastor's daughter and begins the worst 27 hours of his life that threaten to break him completely. In this crime/drama, two people from polar opposites lives realize they have more in common than they ever could have imagined.
Our Goal
In a time where depression is prevalent in our world, a story must be told to offer hope that only Jesus can offer. Breaking 27:00 is a film that will bring perspective to the struggle of depression in both the secular and Christian life. This is a real, raw, and punchy film that will draw people into the story while giving them answers and hope to tough questions on this subject of depression. This is an outreach film for a secular audience...This is not meant to be a church entertainment film. Our goal is to reach a secular audience with this film by offering an authentic representation on the hope that Jesus offers.

When can I watch Breaking 27:00?
In order to bring the production of Breaking 27:00 to the finish line we need to raise $20,000 for post-production costs. Funding is needed for things like editing, special effects, and an original sound track. With your help we can bring this film to completion!
Once the film is completed, Mission Studios plans to pitch it to a number of film studios to get additional support and momentum in the release of the film. The release date of Breaking 27:00 is subject to a number of factors in post-production and is yet to be determined.
The reason for a second fundraiser
While we have already raised $15,000 back in spring of 2024, that was funding for the actual production of the film. Because of the incredible partners we were able to hire a crew and get Breaking 27:00 filmed. The reason for a second fundraiser is for the post-production costs of the film. Funding is needed for things like editing, special effects, and an original sound track.

Writer/Director
The message of Breaking 27:00 hits very close to home for Wesley Blevins, the writer and director of this film. In his own battle with depression, he has grown passionate about telling others that they are not alone in their struggle. Most of all, he is passionate about helping others find the hope and healing that he did through the love of others and Jesus Christ.
Wesley fell in love with filmmaking at a very young age and has been involved in the countless video clips he and his brothers have made growing up. He is experienced in writing, directing, and acting. Some of his more recent projects have included assistant directing the Waiting For You music video as well as writing, directing, and acting in his first short film Reason. Besides filmmaking, Wesley writes short stories and poetry that usually only gets shared with family and close friends. He believes that creativity is an amazing way to worship our amazing Creator and explore the endless mysteries of His love.
The Producer
Josiah Blevins has been involved in the filmmaking world for many years. Most of his growing up years he would run around with his brothers making short films on their property in Juniata PA. He has experience in directing, producing, editing, audio engineering, and acting. His most recent projects have been producing and editing Breaking 27:00 and also producing and editing his Waiting For You music video.
Josiah also has a passion for making music that inspires people to lean into a relationship with God. He has written many songs and currently has multiple singles out on streaming platforms. Josiah is married and lives with his wife in Lancaster PA.
