Camp Greenwood is the summer camp no one intended on attending. When a benevolent haunted cabin traps a motley crew of characters within its property line, they have to find it within themselves to enjoy life and each other in order to get out.

Story
Mission Statement
We are a diverse group of passionate, driven creators who are committed to telling a story that celebrates connection when all the odds are stacked against it. Our hope is that Camp Greenwood and its campers will entertain, inspire, and remind you that it’s okay not to be okay.About The Project
It Begins...
On Sunday, June 21, 2020, when six-year old Jemma gifted her pop pop this for Father's Day:
An epic tale of a Pop pop and Grammy who “when the trees and flowers are in trouble” turn into superheroes, Greenwood and Lilac. Together, they go on an adventure to defeat the villainous Taker in his pursuit to take all the flowers and trees away.
In the midst of a pandemic, Jemma, the daughter of a health care worker who is very much aware of the darkness that is Covid-19, brought a story of hope to her family.
Four Months Later...
Jemma's grandparents accomplished a life long dream of owning property in the Adirondacks and purchased this, Camp Greenwood:
One Year Later:
Melanie (Jemma's aunt) sent this email to a group of her friends and colleagues:
And they said this:
So we started having lots of these:
And we came up with a concept and did lots of research...and then we scrapped everything. But we came up with something else, and built and built. Then Peter and Delilah went into the writers room while the rest of us went into the producers room. Every few days we’d reconvene on zoom & we only mixed up the whole PST/EST a coupla times.
Before long we realized that we were creating a comedy series, not a short film. So we decided to focus on the pilot and THAT’S what we’ll be shooting this August in the Adirondacks.
Why Us?
Centripetal forces. No really. After the isolation of 2020, we yearned for community, connection and the chance to collaborate again. What better way to facilitate that than through art? The facts on the page are that Melanie thought each of us would bring a unique perspective to the group and get along. But if you believe in magic, like us, we think it was a little girl with a story and a magical camp that brought us together. We are a group of artists taking on the entire process of writing, producing, directing and acting in order to tell a story that has been building in us all (collectively) this past year.
Why You?
Because you also had a 2020 and deserve a Camp Greenwood. The act of creating art together is profoundly healing and reinvigorating for us here at Camp Greenwood and we know we are creating something that will resonate with you. The beauty of this collaborative process is that you can have a hand in it by supporting us. By following, pledging and sharing our campaign we, together, can create. Here' some context on how your support in all areas helps:
-> Following Our Campaign: By pressing the follow button at the top right of this page you will be kept up to date about goals we have met and signal to Seed & Spark the believers we have in our project! This will allow us more opportunities to be seen on the website and get us that much closer to our goal.
-> Sharing Our Campaign: By selecting the share button at the top right of this page you can join us in spreading the word about our story, our film and the art you want to see in the world. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterst and E-mail are all options in this section. If you'd like to do it yourself, stress not. We've made it easy with some concise and sexy drafts for you below:
Come to Camp!
I am thrilled to support the TV Pilot CAMP GREENWOOD @campgreenwoodfilm , by filmmakers @melaniemahanna, @imcronin, @kourtneybell, @delilah_costanza, @apeterdonahue, @jdlyke & @tequillawhitfield. We could all use a little summer comedy, bonding, mystery and soul searching. These creators are doing something truly unique in their approach.
Support them on @seedandspark: [LINK HERE]
I’m going to Camp! CAMP GREENWOOD is a hysterically beautiful Pilot created through collaboration and isolation. Sound familiar? 7 diverse strangers, 1 cabin, 1 day. Each of our stories. Please help me in supporting this project! Join them on @seedandspark: [LINK HERE]
-> Making A Pledge: By selecting the green Make A Pledge Button at the top right of this page you will be directly contributing to the creation of this film. While we know you are with us in heart, mind and soul, making movies ain't cheap and we want to do it right. Every dollar pledged will go to funding each aspect of production for equipment, travel, food and safety. See our detailed breakdown below:
Reached us after we've made our goal? Worry not! We have some Stretch Goals that will make this project feel like that first kiss on the last day of camp. See below:
Create With Us
We create for Us. With a capital U. We hope that these characters resonate with you, intrigue you and remind you that none of us really have it figured out, but it’s a lot easier if we do it together...and have a handle on our acid reflux. So, will you join us in helping the pilot of Camp Greenwood come to life?

Current Team
About This Team
Melanie is an actor, writer, and first time filmmaker based in New York City. Growing up in Central New York, Melanie spent summers with her family camping and exploring the Adirondack Park. After dreaming about a collaborative project like this for years, the isolation of the pandemic inspired Melanie to send that first email to see if this incredible group of artists wanted to come together and create. They did and now she can’t wait to share the magic of the Adirodacks with the Camp Greenwood team and all of you!
Tequilla Whitfield was born in Germany. With both parents being active members in the army, Tequilla was no stranger to change. Her quick wit and ability to adapt enabled her to make friends anywhere she went. Acting was a passion for Tequilla from a young age and in 2015, she landed her first leading role in two holiday movies: A Royal Holiday and A Royal Family Christmas starring Vivica A. Fox, Debbi Morgan and Richard Lawson. The following year, she made her big screen debut in the hit movie Hidden Figures alongside Octavia Spencer and Taraji P. Henson. Then in 2018, she appeared on FX’s Emmy and Golden Globe winning show, Atlanta. Most recently, she appeared on Netflix’s hit show, Teenage Bounty Hunters. Some of her other television credits include FOX’s “Shots Fired” and “The Resident.” Her passion for acting is like singing the blues at 3am in a jazz club. It heals her heart and It feeds her soul.
Cronin Cullen is an Actor & Filmmaker from NYC splitting his time in Los Angeles. As an actor he most recently worked on the season finale of This Is Us, the second season of Wu-Tang: An American Saga and the hit Netflix film The Half of It.
In 2020 Cronin wrote, produced, directed and co-starred in his first short film: This One’s for Emily Post alongside Executive Producer Melanie Mahanna. It is currently making the festival rounds. He is excited to bring his experience and persistence to creating another radically collaborative project. Cronin is attracted to telling stories that highlight the nuanced moments of daily life. He hopes to bring our universal hidden struggles and unspoken joys to the forefront of our minds so that we can reconcile and appreciate them for making us who we are. At its core, the Camp Greenwood team holds and shares this spirit. He is thrilled to be a part of the team.
Delilah Napier is an actor, writer, and filmmaker based in NYC. Her debut feature film, Voyeur, which she co-wrote, directed, produced, and starred-in all while still an undergraduate at Yale College, has been selected for over nine film festivals and has gone onto win both "Best US Feature Film," and "The Audience Award" at the SoHo International Film Festival 2020. She was also nominated for “Best Performance By An Actor” at the SoHo Intl. Fest’20 and won “Best Actor” at the Yale in Hollywood Film Festival. As an actor, Delilah has been on Billions, The Sinner, Criminal Minds, and in several Indie projects and plays. In 2014, Delilah made an award winning short Documentary, “The Lingering War,” which documented the ravaging effects of the Secret War in Laos; the film won several awards including, “Best Documentary” at the All American High School Film Festival.
Jason Lyke, originally from Chicago, Illinois, is a multi-talented performer. Jason has appeared in over a dozen commercials including two national campaigns and Seventeen Magazine. As a singer, Jason possesses a strong, crowd pleasing vocal ability as well as a charming, competitive edge. He auditioned for American Idol and made it to the top 100 in Pasadena, California, beating out 11,000 people. Since his trek to Los Angeles in 2017, Jason continues to act, model and sing. He has appeared in television and film and is currently playing a recurring character named Jimmy Good on BET’s new show American Soul. His future is looking very bright. Now he's stepping into directing and writing his own projects. He has a real passion for telling stories that shine light on real life issues about mental health and addiction. His mission is to open people's eyes to the real human experience of these issues.
Kourtney Bell is an actor, writer, filmmaker and Coca-Cola enthusiast. She graduated with a dual degree from the University of Michigan; A B.A. in Film and Television as well as a B.F.A in Theatre Performance. She was most recently the lead of the horror film Don't Look Back written and directed by Jeffrey Reddick, the original creator for the Final Destination Franchise.
Kourtney can also be seen in the CW's All American, Comedy Central's The Detroiters and It Follows. Her new podcast Get Wrecked, with co-creator Eric Myrick, is already charting within the top 100 podcast nationally. She is incredibly excited that Mel invited her on board to be a part of Camp Greenwood to have a place to make new art and make new friendships. Camp Greenwood is a project meant to give humans a place to continue to discover their artistry through collaboration and in return, discover something about themselves. Kourtney is ready to get started and to play.
Peter Donahue is a Lowell, Massachusetts born actor, writer and director. He received his BFA in Acting and a minor in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan. The same year Peter graduated, fortune struck, and he booked a recurring role on the hit Netflix original series The Society where he played the role of Shoe––Mr. Cobbler to you. Peter has appeared in several indie films and a Lifetime film (but we don’t talk about that), and you can look for Peter in the upcoming season of Dexter, on Showtime. Despite growing success as an actor, Peter spends the majority of his time writing and inventing worlds for his imagination to explore, meaning he sits on a pile of words he’ll never let anyone read. But with these amazing collaborators, Peter is excited to write something that will see the light of day.
Istvan “Ish” Lettang is an award winning cinematographer from Slovakia. Born into a family of artists, he was inspired by his grandmother and sister who are painters and his uncle, John Lettang, who was a black and white photographer in NYC. Growing up, Istvan shared his father's passion for fishing and credits his unique style to spending so much time observing nature. A licensed engineer, he immigrated to the U.S. in 2000 and began working. Before long, he found himself immersed in the film industry in NYC. Starting as a camera operator in 2001, he honed his skills learning the ins and outs of filmmaking before transitioning to a Director of Photography in 2012. It was in this role of DP that Istvan's knowledge of contours and space married his artistic style to create unique and powerful images. Since 2012, he has worked on countless projects across the globe in the indie world, big budget features, and commercials winning several awards, his most recent for 2020 Best Cinematographer for his work on Pastiche. A true lover of cinema, Istvan is always learning and continues to be inspired by his favorite cinematographers: Emmanuel Lubezki, Janusz Kaminski, Roger Deakins, Vilmos Zsigmond and Hoyte van Hoytema and directors: Denis Villeneuve, Christopher Nolan, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, Alfonso Cuarón, Akira Kurosawa.
