Mission Statement
The Story
Cankersore Paradise is the following things:
- The Hydroflask you never clean
- The yeast infection you had that one time
- The kind of hangover that leaves you shaking
- The buildup on your teeth when you wake up in the morning after not brushing your teeth the night before
- The lingering cough you suffer from and won't see a doctor about
- The baby fever you get when you see toddlers on the train
- The articles your mom sends you about crime in the city
- The hangnail you play with because it feels a little good
- A good time for all
Budget
- All raised funds will go directly towards providing more equitable pay for the artists involved in Cankersore Paradise, as well as a small portion allocated towards contingency as required by the university.
- Our set, props, lighting, sound, and costumes are supported by Columbia's internal theater department.
- Any additional funds raised that exceed our fundraising goal will continue to be equally divided among the artists! We believe in a horizontal pay structure that recognizes the value and labor of our artists' work.
Timeline
- Cankersore Paradise is currently in preproduction, with rehearsal expected to begin in April!
- Performances will take place May 10th and 11th at Columbia's Lenfest Center for the Arts.
