Story
Mission Statement
We are celebrating two hilarious Jewish women in their mid-40s with talented friends who are a multitude of racial, gender, and ethnic identities. We're showcasing POC directors, producers, performers, and LGBTQIA talent without identity being a conflict - it's just who we are. And we're all funny.About The Project
Corri and Sara are best friends. Sure, they're part of the Chicago theater storefront scene, a few bands, and some tv shows, but they want...well, fame. Cause not being famous is dumb, and they're not getting any younger. Here they are on their YouTube series called "Get In the Car" that features the two of them telling stories in their love language: banter.
One day, while lamenting the whole not-famous thing, they grabbed Kyle Hamman (KBH Media) and said, "Let's make a pilot." Kyle said yes. Then they said, "We'll film part of it on the set of Matt Miller's Beta Males!" Then Matt said yes. It got weird. Here's a bit of that.
They loved the pilot and loved the weird, but they realized it wasn't the story they wanted to tell. What they wanted was to show their home city and the people in it as they were - hustling, quick-witted, and incredibly kind. Plus, they had a lot of weird stories gathered up from Sara's car. Did you know Corri was a bunny whisperer? Anyway.
So they asked Ginger Seehafer, an illustrator who sketched Corri and Sara from their YouTube series, to draw bits of their new show. She ALSO said yes.
They asked Lili-Anne Brown to direct an episode. She said yes, TOO.
They asked Samantha Irby and Annie Wersching to be the voices of some cartoon boobs that Ginger will draw. You won't believe this. They said yes. Then they asked other (surprise) celebrities to be the voices of the bunnies Ginger draws, and they said no.
Just kidding, they totally said yes.
Then, as though they have no shame (because they don't), they kept going and asked Antoine McKay to direct an episode and Jessie Fisher to direct another. Yes...and also yes.
What Corri and Sara want, even more than being famous and for everyone to keep saying yes, is to tell funny stories with the beautifully diverse talent of Chicago. They want to have fun while looking at challenges, have a cocktail while making it awkward, and have a damn solid friendship while on the rocky road to fame.
They're hoping that you say yes, too.

Current Team
About This Team
Sara Sevigny
Executive Producer, Showrunner, Co-Writer
THE WHO AND THE WHAT:
Sara Sevigny is a Chicago based actor, singer, improviser, and playwright who has done a bunch of really cool things (at least according to her parents). You might recognize Sara from Empire, South Side, Boss, Rogers Park, The Gabriels, Other People's Children, and dozens of cool Chicago theaters like Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, the Lyric Opera, Paramount, and Chicago Children's Theater.
Sara currently resides in Chicago but is about to relocate to LA in the fall. Everyone is happy-sad, Sara is repped by Gray Talent Group and Artists First. She also likes unsweetened green tea lemonade, in case you wanted to get her one. It tastes like sunshine.THE WHYTHO:
Sara and Corri have collaborated as writing partners and work spouses since 2008. They have developed a second language of banter and positive support for one another that they want to spread to the world...as they take it over. Sara cheers for her friends like no one else, so she wanted a project that could employ as many of them as possible. A natural talent on camera, Sara knows what she wants and how to get it on screen. Off-screen, she makes grabby motions with her hands until Corri hands her the thing she wanted and couldn't remember the word for. They work well together.
Corrbette Pasko
Executive Producer, Showrunner, Co-Writer
THE WHO AND THE WHAT:
Corrbette Pasko is an actor/writer/singer/professional not-robot voice from Chicago. You might have seen her on Chicago Med, or in commercials for Funkaway or with The Onion, or in Beta Males, or short films like Killing Time and Pancakes for President. She helps produce Write Club Chicago, which is literature as bloodsport. Corrbette is represented by Big Mouth Talent, and you can see lots of her work at corrbette.com.
THE WHYTHO:
Corri is Sara's counterpart, work wife, and the one Sara can pin all the "mean" things on since everyone believes Sara is the nice one (this is a lie). Corri is a constantly spinning top of writing, producing, performing, singing, and gathering people into one room to love on one another (artistically, that is). She wanted to create these rooms through her own work with this team and make space for as many artists as possible while bantering at lightning speed with Sara. Sometimes, she can stop spinning for a second when Sara asks. This is her happy place.
Kyle Hamman
Executive Producer, Showrunner, Director
Kyle Hamman (Director/Executive Producer) is the owner/operator of KBH Media, a boutique multi-media production company that specializes in visual storytelling. His work has led him to work collaboratively with corporations (Target, Precor, Metropolitan Capital, YPO) as well as non-profit and arts organizations (Northwestern University, NPR, Actors Equity Association, Leica Historical Society). Since 2012, Hamman has worked with WBEZ and The Moth which has allowed him to form relationships with various artists and hosts including Brian Babylon (Panelist-Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me), Jill Hopkins (Host-Morning Amp, Vocalo), Jacoby Cochran (Performer, Storyteller, Professor), Stephanie Douglas (Growing Home) and Fawzia Mirza (Writer-The Red Line, Producer, Actor-Signature Move), whom he documented on the day of the historic Women’s March in Chicago in January of 2017.
Hamman has been involved in Chicago theatre as an actor, designer, director and producer for over 20 years. Hamman has been a member of the ensemble at Strawdog Theatre Company since 2000 and has been nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award for Directing, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. Hamman has worked with numerous other theatres in Chicago including Steppenwolf, Writers Theatre, Timeline, Northlight, Porchlight, Lifeline, Mary-Arrchie, The Factory, CollaborAction, Teatro Vista, Barrel of Monkeys, Noble Fool, Serendipity, Theatre Seven, WildClaw and Windy City Playhouse.
THE WHYTHO:
Kyle wound up on this project somewhat by accident and has happily been leading a charge of missteps on purpose ever since. His eagerness to discover has lead him to continually encourage "All of It" as his motto for CSAF. It was Kyle who reminded us that we are multi-disciplinary artists, and should reflect that in our series using as many mediums as possible. His giddy reaction to ideas that are "too out there" is enough to convince us that nowhere is too out there. It's all here. All of It.
Matthew Miller
Consulting Producer
THE WHO AND THE WHAT:
Matt Miller is a Chicago-based director and producer.
As a commercial director, his recent credits include work for Lowe's, Eggo, America's Best Eyeglasses, Black Flag, AT&T, Hyundai, Crest, and The Hartford.
Matt co-created the Teachers web series with the sketch group the Katydids. The show was picked up to series by TV Land in 2014 and ran for three seasons. Matt served as an executive producer on the show.
An accomplished stage director as well, notable productions include Irish Theatre of Chicago's production of The Seafarer (nominated for 5 Joseph Jefferson Awards, WINNER for Best Ensemble), The Killer Angels with Lifeline Theatre (WINNER Joseph Jefferson Award for Sound Design), Superior Donuts with Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co., and Oblivion for Steppenwolf’s First Look Repertory.
Matt also sports a degree in education and has taught on-camera acting for DePaul University's Theatre School, The Acting Studio Chicago, and The Second City Training Center.
Although he is only 44 years old, Matt is reading on a 47-year-old level.
THE WHYTHO:
Matt Miller has graciously listened to Corri and Sara as they pelt him with emails and questions for years. "You know what you're doing. What are WE doing?" they'd ask. "Read this and tell us if we're insane," they implored. And he would, and they likely are. Matt continuously takes time out of his busy schedule to advise the duo on their projects and their respective scopes without judgment. To the contrary, he lets them know what they're getting themselves into and offers to help. He's been nothing short of game, and they're all eternally grateful.
Wendy Mateo
Producer, Actor
THE WHO AND THE WHAT:
Wendy is a Chicago-based actor, writer, director, and producer. On Chicago stages, she's been seen at our most historic theaters like Lookingglass Theatre, The Steppenwolf 1700, The Second City, and iO Chicago, just to name a few.
On the small screen, Wendy makes the rounds on Chicago PD, Easy, The Exorcist, and Shameless. On the big screen, she appeared in Widows with Viola Davis, as well as in her own short, Good Mothers, coming to festivals as we speak. Her comedy show, Dominizuelan, with her best friend Lorena Diaz, has led to NPR spots and the series Dominizuelan Consulate with Fred Armisen. Wendy is represented by Gray Talent Group.
THE WHYTHO:
Corri and Sara have adored Wendy forever. FOREVER. They often talked with her and Lorena about doing some comedy together, and now their dreams are exploding while coming true. It's like a dream...volcano (sure). Wendy and Lorena not only play the narrator-professors throughout the season ("I swear, we're the Latina Bizarro you two," she told Corri and Sara), but Wendy is bringing her on-set expertise to CSAF as a Line Producer and Script Supervisor. Corri and Sara don't know how they got this lucky, but they're not questioning it. Nope.
Lili-Anne Brown
Director
THE WHO AND THE WHAT:
A native Chicagoan, Ms. Brown works as a director, actor, and educator. She is the former artistic director of Bailiwick Chicago, where she directed Dessa Rose (Jeff Award), Passing Strange (Black Theatre Alliance Award and Jeff Award nomination for Best Director of a Musical), See What I Wanna See (Steppenwolf Theatre Garage Rep) and the world premiere of Princess Mary Demands Your Attention by Aaron Holland. Other directing credits include Ike Holter’s Lottery Day (Goodman Theatre); The Wolf at the End of the Block (16th Street Theatre); The Wiz (Kokandy Productions); Xanadu (American Theatre Company) and many others. Brown is a member of SDC, SAG-AFTRA and a graduate of Northwestern University. Lili-Anne is represented by WME.
THE WHYTHO:
Corri and Sara have admired Lil's work and straightforward brilliance for literal decades, and they roped her into this project when she inserted herself into their brainstorm. When planning an audio serial comedy script called, "Butterscotch and Bangs" about a detective agency in the 80s, it was Lil who told them they were missing a character: hers. Thus, "Butterscotch, Bangs, and Brown Sugar" was born (coming soon to your earballs). They find as many opportunities to work with Lil (and her whip-crack comedic timing and picture-perfect vision for imperfect people and situations) as they possibly can. She's a big deal for a reason.
Antoine McKay
Director
THE WHO AND THE WHAT:
Antoine McKay has been around the Chicago film block a time or two. Most recently, Antoine was seen in "South Side," a new Comedy Central show about a family-owned business in the Englewood neighborhood. Antoine was also in Chicago’s hit series, “Empire,” as well as "Sense8," “Patriot,” and his own pilot, "Written Off." Antoine has also been seen in the films "The Weatherman," "He Sends Rain," and "Rogers Park."
Antoine is a father who opened a theater in Rogers Park, McKay Arts, whose mission is to educate and entertain while creating an inclusive, diverse, and respectful environment and a lasting impression of hope and joy.
THE WHYTHO:
Antoine played Sara's husband in "Rogers Park" and they worked together for almost two years on their roles. He is a beaming welcome of positivity and creative energy and has one of the best laughs you've ever heard. Plus, that dude has 19 children* and it's amazing he has time for anything, let alone the successful career he does. Someone get this man a chair.
*ok, 5
Jessie Fisher
Director
THE WHO AND THE WHAT:
Jessie Fisher has just returned home to Chicago after starring in "Once" and "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" on Broadway. One half of the incredible variety duo Erik & Jessie, her Chicago credits include stints at Steppenwolf, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, and her Jeff-Award winning turn with the Hypocrites as the Emcee in Cabaret. She has also appeared on Boss, Chicago P.D., Chicago Justice and is the co-creator and director of the upcoming digital series The Force.THE WHYTHO:
First off, Corri and Sara are superfans of Jessie Fisher. She is a vibrant storyteller and has an incredible eye for fun in the everyday. As an artist, she has the innate ability to bring people together just by asking. We subscribe to that vision, and Jessie celebrates this most brilliantly with the variety show she curates with her husband, Erik Hellman. Erik & Jessie & Everyone You Know, which just had performances at Steppenwolf Theatre, with a sold-out two-night run. -
