The Story
Just like my most recent animated short film, 'The Apple Tree', 'Custodian' is a 2D animated short created entirely on a computer and in any spare time I can scrape together. While the first film dealt with themes of whimsical adventures of youth and a touch of environmentalism, ‘Custodian’delves into darker, psychological themes like horror, guilt, isolation and the quest for redemption all of us have experienced.
It has been set in the medieval period, something that has always been close to my heart, no doubt fueled by my having been a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism for many years.
This is the second and rather unexpected campaign for the project after we were, unfortunately, targeted by a fraudulent contributor. A rather sizeable contribution was pledged by an individual unknown to me, and all production funds were delivered in early April. After about 30 days, this individual chose to file a dispute and sadly it did not end in our favor. This second campaign is designed to recover the lost funds and make the campaign whole again, so that I may take the desired amount of time to make the best production push that I can.
Seed & Spark, recognizing that this is highly unusual, has generously offered to come on board with half the lost amount, providing I can raise the other half through this new campaign. Of course, time is short and we must do so by the end of July, 2016 in order to get things back on track.
Once again, composer extraordinaire Joe Kraemer (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Jack Reacher) will be providing the original score, as he did with 'The Apple Tree'.
It is my hope that we can meet this challenge with the force of a medieval army. Thank you!

Sabbatical
Costs $2,500
To make real headway on Custodian, Scott must take an unpaid sabbatical and is sole breadwinner for his family. PORTION GOES TO MUSIC/SCORE.
Social Media & PR
Costs $500
To keep up momentum and grow following to increase demand and continued interest in the film.
Campaign Rewards & Expenses
Costs $500
Because we have most excellent swag and it takes a LOT of work.
Contingency
Costs $500
Because everything - platforms, etc. have a cost or cut, and sh*t happens (as I'm now WELL aware).

He is also the director of three feature films, 'BURN' (1998), 'TEN TIL NOON' (2006) and the music documentary 'WE RUN SH*T' (2012) (co-directed with Michael Rogers); all of these films have met with acclaim at various film festivals in North America.
