The Story

In Extremely Close, Yet Awfully Far, Isaiah and Jade, a young couple whose dreams collide with the harsh realities of life.

Beginning in a rundown apartment, Isaiah and Jade are about to leave their hometown behind and embark on a new life together. However, their plans unravel the night before as Jade questions Isaiah's behavior, Their relationship's complexities become evident. Isaiah's silence speaks volumes, and Jade's intuitive nature forces the truth to surface. The apartment quickly becomes a battleground for their emotions as they grapple with fear, insecurity, and the weight of their choices. Isaiah ultimately decides that the last good thing he is capable of doing for Jade is keeping his word and taking her to college. Isaiah and Jade hit the road. As they travel through scenic landscapes, and pass through multiple towns,

the young couple grapples with their fears as they reach a crossroads.

The story delves into Isaiah's complex emotions, as he battles with the belief that he is not deserving of the future Jade envisions.

Young love almost always never lasts...

This coming-of-age film unfolds on two interconnected levels. The first narrative thread resonates with all who've held unspoken sentiments of a first love. This film will be the letter you never sent. exploring the electric emotions we keep bottled within our youthful hearts. This emotional landscape finds embodiment in the story of Isaiah and Jade, childhood sweethearts. How do you hold on all while growing up? That is a question most of my generation is facing and this film presents this in a cathartic way that people Right Now Need.

However, beneath the surface lies a secondary purpose, one deeply personal to me. This film serves as an allegory for my

own moments of shortcomings, moments I've failed those I cared for deeply. It holds a mirror to a chapter of my life when I was faced with the imminent passing of a loved one to cancer. Regrettably, during that pivotal time, my choices were not guided by the consideration I wished I offered. I failed this person during the last moments of their life. The memory of this missed opportunity is one I've carried, but within that, I find solace in the recognition of their boundless love—a love that saw beyond my shortcomings. Thus, while this story extends to those who've experienced the loss of love and the nostalgia of first loves, its essence runs even deeper.

This film is a reminder that our missteps don't negate the purity of our love. In much the same way, Isaiah's character becomes a reflection of this sentiment.

Whether you're old, Gen-Z, or in your 20-30s we all look back to something or someone and this film is how it feels to look back because it's both sweet and heartbreaking.

That is why everyone needs to see it, and why everyone will understand and relate in some way.

Here are some examples of what Extremely Close, Yet Awfully Far will look like through our very own photoshoot Including BTS!

This is just a glimpse!

This shoot is just an example of how visually appealing and how visually forward this story is and why I chose film to be its art medium because it is visceral, electric, and will have a visual energy that can only come from making it a film. This shoot is made to showcase just a fraction of its potential.

Your support is pivotal for us in bringing this film to life. You will be a part of helping a first-time filmmaker Eliah Miller a young woman from the Bay Area who has dreamed of going out to Los Angeles to bring her stories to life. This dream begins with Extremely Close, Yet Awfully Far, a raw and intimate story that can only exist with your contribution. This film has brought together an amazing cast and crew who are so passionate about this project and the story behind it. We cannot wait to show you how incredible it will be!

Meet our starstudded cast! We are incredibly proud to have them on our team.

We are incredibly proud to have Richie Merrit who starred in White Boy Rick with Matthew McConaughey. He has been in multiple feature films with many renowned actors/actresses. I wrote this film imagining Richie as the star in one particular scene and now he is the star of the film, and to have the very person I imagined and wrote the script for is an incredible honor, but I cannot get to the finish line without your guy's help! We still need to shoot and that is where you all come in.

Giovanna Bush was someone I found through a thesis short film from AFI in a short "A Strange Calm" Her natural talent stood out to me (One that won an indie short fest for outstanding performance) and when it came to looking for our Jade I remembered her performance and knew she would be perfect for Jade.

One of our ambitions for this short film is to give you a feature film experience. We believe that our carefully selected locations contribute to the essence of something much larger than a typical short film might have. You all and every bit of your contribution will be why our short will stand apart as something truly special. We are excited for you all to see these locations up close and intimate.
