The Story
It's time to get crushy! The Face Crusher is a local legend, first conceived for a brewery film fest and made for fun by Salem MA locals. Since then, the Face Crusher has made a sequel, screened at film festivals around the country (winning awards such as the "WTF" trophy at Shawna Shea), and made appearances in Salem amongst the Halloween hordes. I've made a dozen horror shorts, and, to my surprise, the Face Crusher is the one people love to talk about, especially fans of the Toxic Avenger. The time has come to make a sequel that pushes the envelope further- more gags, more stunts, and more weirdness.
In Face Crusher 3, a girl asks her AI-BFF chatbot to tell her the scariest story ever. She then hears the dastardly tale of the abomination that kills people by smashing their face in with random objects, which we will show with practical effects and makeup. Of course, she doesn't buy any of it- until she finds too late that he is all too real.
We'll be filming at an underground dive bar, a magical tourist attraction, and in the Salem Woods. We're going to have a blast making this, which will show through in the finished product. Then we're going to have a screening party at Cinema Salem, get it into several horror film fests, have some in-person events and merchandise, and see where it goes, hopefully leading to a feature film or series. The money raised will go to the SFX makeup, food, and discounted rates for the cast and crew. Any money raised over the budget will be split up with the cast and crew.
