Mission Statement

At once deeply terrifying and sweepingly sympathetic, "Fleurish" explores the curious territory between grief and the unspeakable horrors found in our response to it. At its core, we aim to deepen our connection to those experiencing the pain of loss and the isolation felt as the world continues on.

The Story

Fleurish centers around Harris, a grieving widower in his early 30s, struggling with the loss of his wife, Mary, and the recent stillbirth of their child, Adam. The story is told through fragmented, emotional moments, showing Harris’s internal turmoil and his attempts to cope with his grief through therapy and adjust to a life devoid of love and purpose.

Fleurish introduces Harris, a bereaved widower as he navigates the complex feelings surrounding his wife's subsequent suicide in the wake of their son's stillbirth. Harris's grief is sown in an act of passioned desperation. Ushered by his despair unspeakable horrors flourish.

This gripping film blends elements of folk horror with the emotionally complex dynamics of family drama. An eldritch style terror shaped by the internal conflict of grief and the repercussions of desire. Fleurish blurs the line between reality and illusion as one family's tragic fate leads to ruin.

"Mary, Mary, quite contrary how does your garden grow?

With silver bells and cockleshells And pretty maids all in a row."

"The film, in many ways, is deeply personal in that it taps into the very real struggles I've faced in losing someone close to me. The pain, longing, and uncertainty that is found in grief is burned into the pages of the screenplay and will resonate deeply with anyone who has experienced severe mourning. While we see the lowest of lows on screen in the form of anger, bitterness, and despair, we also indulge in the silence and peculiarity that often goes unnoticed in short form dramatic pieces. Our team is approaching the material in very interesting ways that will create an intimate voyeurism for our audience...an approach that may feel uncomfortable in its emotional familiarity. Death, desire, shame, fear. These constitute the foundation of Fleurish."
