Mission Statement
We are a multi ethnic/ multinational group of filmmakers and actors uniting to create an entertaining and thought provoking series dealing with issues that effect us all. All major roles are played by underrepresented people with non stereotypical roles.About The Project
Chapter 1 - New York
The Global Order pushes to homogenize language and culture, and Destina Santiago is already struggling to keep her Latino heritage alive. Her mother is dead, her father is pushing her into a relationship with a GO Enforcer and she has a younger brother who relies on her. She gets a message from Nok Noi in Thailand that forces her to wrestle with deep questions of where her loyalties lie and make life or death decisions.
In chapters 2&3, the parallel stories of Destina's friends Nok Noi in Thailand and Mano in Africa will unfold.
GOAL
This campaign has been set up to give us the last little boost we need to finish post production for Chapter 1. The 5k Funds are needed for visual effects, sound design, music and initial marketing and distribution. Second tier goal is up to 10,000 to begin pre-production of chapter 2 in Thailand.

Why Sci-fi?
Fantasy and Sci Fi are the arenas of modern myths which enable us to rethink common assumptions about the nature of our existence in space and time and elevate our collective imagination. “The significance of a myth is not easily to be pinned on paper by analytical reasoning.” -Tolkien.
Director's Statement
"Learn how to see and learn to to see that everything is connected.” - DaVinci
This is a quote that inspired me in the early development of the series. If everything is connected what exactly does that mean for us? We grapple with our identity as humans. What is our connection with the stars, micro specks in an unfathomably vast universe that we are? Yet we can’t even maintain a sense of interconnectedness among our own species, divided arbitrarily into our various tribes endlessly warring with each other. How can a species so myopic ever expect to discover it’s place in the universe?
Why are we so divided over so many minute differences; Political opinions, land borders, places of birth, pigmentation of the skin, the slight proportional differences in our faces, the sounds we make to communicate to each other? Don’t we all struggle with pain, sorrow and suffering? Don’t we all, if only for forgotten moments, experience love, beauty, grace? Or can anyone really be expected to sympathize with someone who seems so different from themselves?
These are some things I'm exploring in these interconnecting stories of very different characters struggling with universal human problems in very dramatic circumstances. As simplistic as it might seem, we need to start identifying with each other before we destroy each other. Gold From the Sky series deals with an impending destructive force… but for me it is an expression of a sense of impending doom coming upon us if we don’t learn how to identify with, respect, love each other and work together across all borders.
Our simple contribution with this series is in giving a common and engaging platform for performers and filmmakers from around the world to share their dreams and nightmares for the future, As well as hopes, disappointments, suffering, failures and triumphs.Incentives
