The Story
What is H-Town Chronicles?
H-Town Chronicles follows two best friends spending their freshman year spring break in Houston, where what starts as a normal trip quickly turns into a series of unexpected and surreal encounters that blur the line between reality and imagination.
Set against the backdrop of Houston’s culture and energy, the series transforms everyday moments into something strange, unpredictable, and deeply human. Through humor, tension, and surreal twists, H-Town Chronicles explores friendship, identity, and the chaos of stepping into a new chapter of life.
Why This Project Matters
Built from the ground up by Houston creatives, H-Town Chronicles blends surreal storytelling with real-life experiences to spotlight voices that are often overlooked. This project is about creating without limits, telling stories on our own terms, and building a space where bold, unconventional ideas can exist—and be seen.
We believe powerful storytelling doesn’t require permission—just a community willing to believe in it.
Why Me / Why Now
As a filmmaker and creative director based in Houston, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with local artists, brands, and creatives to bring stories to life through visual storytelling. My work is rooted in authenticity, culture, and community—and H-Town Chronicles is a direct extension of that.
This project is important to me because it reflects a new generation of creatives navigating identity, freedom, and ambition in a way that feels honest and unfiltered.
Now is the time to tell this story. Houston’s creative scene is growing, and there’s a need for stories that reflect the people and experiences shaping it. With your support, we can bring this vision to life and create something that represents us—on our own terms.
️ Where We Are & What’s Next
We are currently in the pre-production phase of H-Town Chronicles, finalizing casting, locations, and production plans for our next episode. We just completed the pilot episode earlier this year, and we plan to continue filming the rest of season one this year.
This campaign will directly fund:
- Production (filming, equipment, locations)
- Post-production (editing, sound, color)
- Our premiere screening experience in Houston at the end of 2026.
Our goal is to begin filming shortly after the campaign concludes, with plans to host a premiere screening once the pilot is complete.
Supporters at select tiers will be invited to attend early screenings and exclusive premiere experiences.
This pilot will serve as the foundation for expanding H-Town Chronicles into a larger series.

About This Team
I’m Lynette Guidry, the director and creator behind H-Town Chronicles. I carefully built a team that reflects the vision and values of this project—majority of our crew and key team members are women, specifically Black women. I wanted to create a space where women lead behind the camera because we rarely see enough representation of women, especially Black women, in leadership positions in film and television. This show is about celebrating women—both behind the camera and in front of it—and giving them the platform, authority, and visibility they deserve. Every member of our team brings passion, skill, and perspective, making H-Town Chronicles not only a story about life in Houston but a statement about who gets to create and lead in the industry.
