Mission Statement

The team behind HAPPY PLACE consists of diverse, young, and inclusive artists that are striving to deliver an impactful story. By watching the isolation of COVID-19, we empathized with the mental health issues young people & marginalized groups faced today. We're putting the feeling on-screen.

The Story

LOGLINE: After mourning the loss of his drug-addicted friend, Andrew tries an experimental antidepressant, DX-127, in his pursuit of happiness.

Andrew is distraught with the loss of his friend, Elliot. In need of help, he is introduced to an anti-depressant, DX-127. As he's adapting to his new coping method, he is unable to realize that he may be becoming an addict.

As DX-127 is lifting his mind, Andrew is blinded into buying into these deluded emotions as he's on his pursuit of endless satisfaction. With changes in behavior and hallucinations, DX-127 affects the very few relationships with the people in his life such as his mother and Kacey, his free-spirited girlfriend.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 in order to get this film made right. We are confident in our vision and proud of our team behind this that includes Max Rogoff, Dee Rogers, Aamir Yusuf, Maya Pacheco, Emily Ram, Quinn Lozar, Kendall Wolford, Stephen Clay, Boston Peterson, and Daniele Truocchio. Together, we make up True Artist Productions. We find meaningful stories and bring them to life on screen.

Passion will get this film made and an appropriate level of funding will get this film made right, which is of the utmost importance to our cast and crew! That’s where the help of your generous contribution comes in.

Careful budgeting is a key component to achieving a smooth and successful filmmaking process. Having done so, we’re confident that we can properly execute our vision for the amount we’re seeking via this crowdfunding campaign. It’s also important to us that you, as a dedicated contributor, see how we anticipate the funds will be spent, which is why we’ve provided the visual representation below.

Check it out and please give at the funding level you feel most comfortable. Our chances of getting fully funded, and of building an eager audience in advance, will also increase by you sharing about this campaign on all of your own social media channels.

Your support not only helps us make this one film, but in turn helps our team expand their careers. YOU make it happen!

In advance, we thank you for your financial and social media support!

This is a pie chart representation of how the funds will be divided up throughout the course of production. Most of the funds are going to studio rentals, post production, and equipment so we can have the best look and atmosphere for our film.

We have a very talented team of professionals who are enthusiastic about bringing this film to life! Check them out below:
