It's not just about the money - but more being part of bringing something hopeful, kind and wise into a world that needs it, and honoring the artists who created that. Our composer spent over 20 hours writing and recording an original score, the videographer gave up 3 consecutive Sundays to film it, 2 sons brought their 90yr old Mother to the corral, actors trooped from one location to another, and the film maker has spent countless hours editing and editing and editing! And to enter festivals has a fee of between $25-$100 simply to be considered (as we are with the Sedona Film Festival)

6 short stories told with Voice Over - most of them are true.

1) In Their Own Words: We meet the horses that live together cared for by their people as they get their breakfast, go for a walk, and one is very unhappy when his friend leaves their yard - briefly.

2) Memories: 90yr old women who grew up with horses, reconnects with horses after 50 years when her sons bring her to meet Mariah.

3) Meditation: An alternative-living massage therapist, finds peace and courage sitting, cheek to nose with her gift horse, Bella - who has found her perfect person.

4) Snapshots: A quick voyage through the film-maker's 67 years of horses finishing with her current girl Millie.

5) Beginnings: A young mother brings her baby to meet Mariah.

6) Threaded through the vignettes is Connections - an isolated cat girl meets a shy horse girl in the aisle of a feed store and later, leaning on a horse, friends are made.

Thank you specially Horse Tales team - threw together some opening footage and stills from the work in the field - beginning Sunday Oct 13... with Mike's music ... Zayne Hirsch, Abby Heydorn, Caitlin Ashlee, Danielle Fink, Chrystin Aponte, Joel Coster and Diana Valenzuela.

WHY NOW

In these times of social isolation, anxiety and depression

when we don't know who to trust and wonder where we fit in the world,

it's easy to separate ourselves from everything.

Now, more than ever, the human urge to connect

with other beings is essential

and our domestic pets offer us a way back to community

- and ourselves.

When you support this film, you can inspire someone to reach out, connect with a living being and from there to society.

WHY ME

As far as I know have always been on a horse, and in 67 years there have been very few years when I didn't have one (or more) in my life on a daily basis. Throughout my work as an Educator, Counselor, Theatre Director, and Writing Coach horses have been my teachers therapists and inspiration, helping me to be all I could be to others.

I have moved from Australia to the USA and lived in Oregon and Arizona. Everywhere I go horses come into my life, a doorway into a community that grounds and sustains. I know about horses and the stories we create together.

WHY THIS

I have watched my horses lead people into a place of peace, hope, confidence and - even - better health. I am struck by how many women - of all ages - connect with the Horse. Little girls love horses, teenagers confide in them, women take care of them through motherhood years and beyond.

We feed them before work, clean yards after dark and buy hay we can hardly afford. Old women never forget how to talk and listen to a horse. Women who've never had a horse will whisper they always wanted one. It's not just horses - it can be dogs, cats or birds. And it's not just women. Human beings share this planet and a personal relationship with another species that requires our care and in turn takes care of us, is a primal need.
