Mission Statement
Our team has always been over 50% female with women in key positions on both the creative and production ends. We always aim to be inclusive in hiring of cast and crew.About The Project
From Director, Boone Platt:
Low in the Water is my first project as writer or director. It's a very sullen story about humanity, exploring the ways we seek to change, rather than really understand ourselves. I've always found myself drawn to dark characters Some of my favorite stories are filled with very flawed, often morally reprehensible people, and I wanted that sense of questionable morality to have a strong presence in the film.
As a child, I would spend part of every summer at a lake in the mountains of Southern California. My family owned a very small cabin by the water on what is considered the "historic" side of Big Bear Lake. Being on the "historic" side of the lake, meant that renovations were strictly regulated, the cabins there were all small, modest, time capsules that fascinated me to no end. I loved imagining what sort of people might live in the small cabins and how they'd spend their days living by the lake. As I wrote Low in the Water not only did my memories of the lake guide my descriptions and feel of the setting, but that fascination, and that sense of mystery that I felt as a kid seemed to erupt into the story itself.
BUDGET:
Our current target of $9225 covers Production expenses only to shoot and get picture lock. We are hoping to go ABOVE and BEYOND this to help us make the most of our finished film! Take a look at our stretch goals:
$10,000 - Stretch Goal #1 - Post Materials & Festival Submissions
Festival submissions can get incredibly expensive, even with discounts and waivers. The bigger the festival, the more expensive it is to submit! Although a lot has gone digital, there are still marketing materials and press kit requirements like postcards, flyers, posters and hard copies of the film that are required to participate successfully.
$11,000 - Stretch Goal #2 - Advertising & Additional Screenings
Once you get into a festival, there are fees associated with events, marketing your film and paying for prime time screening slots so more folks have a better chance of seeing it at the festival instead of relying on your one, mid-week screening to catch attention.
$12,000 - $15,000 - Travel & Expenses for Festivals
It's so very fun to be accepted into a festival that is out of town, except for the travel and accommodations part. Very few festivals offer to pay or help with any of this, so it's up to the filmmakers to get themselves there and find a place to stay. This wouldn't cover nearly enough for all of our team to attend more than one or two, but it would be be a good start. #RoadTrip!

Current Team
About This Team
We're Tight Knit Productions! Our core team is comprised of Carrie Prince (me), Boone Platt, Allison Rae, Matthew Bacis and Amanda Dow- a group of filmmaking friends that have known each other over ten years and decided one fateful New Years night to make it official and start creating together. Our flagship film, Kinesthesia, was successfully funded on Seed&Spark in 2015 and since that whirlwind of festivals has ended we've been gearing up to assemble a wonderfully diverse slew of projects, beginning with this new gem, Low in the Water. Each of us play an integral part in both producing, creating and performing in our projects. We manifest our films collectively and take on different roles depending on what the project requires. We hope you stay in touch with us as we move forward in our company and expand our vision and creative voices.
