Mission Statement
The Story
The year is 1804. Napoleon Bonaparte has just been crowned Emperor of France and he would really like his younger sister to behave like a good girl. Her new husband, Prince Camillo Borghese of Italy, would appreciate the same. Pauline has other ideas. When Camillo commissions the renowned sculptor Antonio Canova to create a virginal and chaste statue of Pauline, she shocks the world by instead posing buck ass naked. (ALL OF THIS IS TRUE.)
This play takes place at the party where the statue is unveiled.
At its heart, this is the story of men in power telling a woman what to do with her own body — and that woman telling them to f*** right off.
NAPOLEON'S WH*RE SISTER will come to the stage for the 2025 Hollywood Fringe Festival at the Broadwater Second Stage in Hollywood, California.

Hello, Shannon Corbeil here. My journey with Pauline first began when I read an article in National Geographic about "Venus Victorious" — the notorious statue of Pauline. I knew right away that she was a woman who deserves to have her story told — the feminine contrast to her conquering brother. She is the fulcrum around with this play rotates — she is the heroine, the scapegoat, the flawed icon, and the resilient survivor. She stands in for any woman who has felt shamed, demeaned, insecure, or trapped by misogyny.
"It is a terrible thing always to be the victim of men." Those are her words and still today, women around the world can relate all too well.
So I have taken real events from her life and from Napoleon's imperial legacy and depicted them at a party where no one is safe from facing some hard truths or coming up with euphemisms for "quim" — no, not even our belovéd audience members ::insert grinning devil emoji here::
Good news: Fringe shows have to be fast on their feet. We won't need a real three-dimensional statue until we make it to Broadway! For now, we're getting creative with a tight budget and some paint. That "tight budget" is still a good little chunk of change for one person — that's where you come in.
Your contribution will help us afford some critical costs like:
- Paying our hardworking actors, director, & choreographer (and musicians? Pretty sure this is a musical now)
- Regency-era costumes, tiaras, and merkins (!!!)
- Set design and props — Venus Victorious will make her appearance one way or another!
- Marketing to fill those seats with audience members who will shriek and laugh and cry in all the right places and leave glowing reviews and greenlight the West End production and...
