"Smoked" is a female-centric stoner comedy about high school bullying, friendships, insecurity, and misconceptions. Each character knows what it's like to be picked on or stepped over, but none of them is perfect. They all grow, learn, trip, and fuck up again. Just like in life, right? Right.

Intros! How you doin?
I'm Lauren. I'm a filmmaker, writer, comedian, stoner wunderkind. Ok, I'm not a wunderkind. I don't know what it means and I'm not interested in Googling it. I just like the term because it reminds me of chocolate. I think it's because there's a European chocolate bar that is sold in specialty stores that says "kind" or "wunder." I don't need to explain myself to you.
What were we talking about? Oh yeah.
SMOKED!
My movie! It's really cool and funny and silly! It's about friendships and being female and the horribleness that is every high school experience. And the super fun thing is that we already shot it! We were so lucky to have an absolutely incredible cast and crew. We got to do a lot of great stuff but we need your help funding the post-production elements that will really make it a movie. We're talking editing, color-correction, sound design, score, and festival submissions. But enough about the boring stuff. Let's meet the team!
Who Are We?
DIRECTOR:
Maria Blasucci. Basketball star. Director extraordinaire, writer, actress, podcaster. If you've seen Drunk History or Neighbors 2, you're already familiar with Maria's writing and acting, which means you're already a fan. Duh.
CAST:
GRAHAM - played by Lauren Dunitz (You may recognize me from a commercial I did two years ago that never aired, thank you very much.)
First we have Graham, aka me, aka Lauren, aka the troubled Postmates courrier. She accepts a delivery to her old high school. She doesn't want to go back to school because she was treated like shit there. She loves her marijuana vape pen and not much else. She has... a bit of an attidude.
Ohhh yeah. Life is hard.
JENNY - played by Emily Althaus (You may recognize her from Orange is the New Black, The Resident, Law & Order:SVU, and many more!)
Jenny was Graham's victim in high school. You read that right: the bullee (Graham) becomes the bully (to Jenny). Jenny is the moral compass of the movie. She's smart and grounded and cares about other peoples' well-being.
MS. BANLEY - played by Beth Hoyt (Check her out on WhoHAHA, Inside Amy Schumer and a million other things cause she's kickass and very busy!)
Ms. Banley is an English teacher. She's just trying to get through the day, ya know?
MR. STEVENS - played by Jim Kane (Community, I'm Dying Up Here)
Mr. Stevens and Graham have a storied history together, by which I mean they hate each other.
COACH DAN - played by Sean Conroy (Sean is the evil genius behind Mr. Pickles on Adult Swim, but he is also a writer on every show you love like Key & Peele and Kroll Show to name a couple.)
MR. HIEFERSCHMERTZ - played by Craig Anstett (you can see some of his hilarity on FunnyorDie.com)
Mr. Hieferschmertz is still working on finding his voice amongst his peers, but he'll get there, guys.
His face says it all.
SMOKED
It's a day in the life of Graham, a stoner Postmates courrier, who has to deliver bagels and lox to her old high school. (We catchin' those puns? Smoked salmon; smoking protagonist...) Graham encounters a slew of teachers she once feared and an old classmate she didn't know she used to bully, Jenny. After Jenny and Graham deliver the food to the teachers, Graham is faced with a confrontation she never expected and could never prepare for. Will she make it out alive or will she end up totally Smoked?

About This Team
Maria Blasucci is a special force to be reckoned with. She's a crazy-talented writer, actress, director, and podcaster. Be intimidated, be very intimidated.
Emily Althaus is an actress and an activist and, let's face it, she already seems like she's your best friend. She's brilliant and talented! But you already knew that.
John Wise comes with years of production experience. He has worked on television shows and films across the country for over ten years. "Smoked" is very lucky to have him on our team.
Lauren Dunitz is an actor, comedian, and screenwriter from Los Angeles. She's pretty into dogs.
Blaine Dunkley has an amazing eye. As our Director of Photography, Blaine elevated "Smoked" to a level we could not have imagined.
