The Stone & the Stars is a narrative short film about a young woman coping with the loss of her closest childhood friendship. Using a folktale, flashbacks, and quarry jumping to shape the narrative, the film explores what it is to find your way home, and the choice between fear and embracing life.

About The Project
The ache of loss is universal. Our personal experiences of this ache, and the question of what propels us past this ache, are at the heart of the desire to create this short film. We hope that our film about the loss of a childhood friendship is resonant for those feeling the pangs of longing – (perhaps we all are feeling this, all the time to greater and lesser degrees!). Is it human to want the good of our lives to be lasting? How do we face the endings within our own lives? How do we remember and what is our responsibility to those memories? How do we honor our past as we move forward? In The Stone & the Stars, we aim to capture moments of what it looks and feels like to remember.
