Walking home alone? Unthinkable. Except college student Logan isn't really thinking. This black and white film seamlessly transforms from thriller into horror and has set out to achieve an exceptional, genre-bending story without sacrificing the visuals... But who is following her home?

Story
Mission Statement
A story about young people, by young people. We want to give a fresh and new look at our current generation by telling a story about us. Filmmaking is a field dominated by older people and we want to change that with this project!About The Project
It's Halloween. It's college. Logan and Hailey have plans for a normal night out. Ben has plans, too. They all have different ideas of normal, and they're all going to the same party. During this night out gone twistedly wrong, Logan goes home. But she isn't alone. When Logan is followed by the person nobody expects, the story becomes anything but normal.
This story is a fresh approach to the deeply-loved horror genre. Although shot in black and white, it will leave your mind in a dizzying state of technicolor. We want The Night She Was Followed Home to be the best. If it is not excellent, there isn't any reason to do it. As students, we want the chance to challenge our own storytelling abilities and bring stylistic elements from traditional horror to the student film scene. The Night She Was Followed Home is a chance to give old stories a new voice, and to represent horror in a different way.
To me, there is no better feeling in the world than watching the lights go down as a movie begins. I get butterflies just thinking about those few seconds between complete darkness and the opening shot. Then, for the next 2 hours or so, I am completely engulfed in another world. Movies are so powerful. They are one of the only things on this Earth that transcend all barriers. They rise above language, location, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, etc. Movies are a shared art experience that positively shape our world. It would bring me such joy to be able to share our creation with the world. We are young adults from all different backgrounds devoted to the same goal: making this film as good as we can. We want to create. We want to make something that resonates with you. We want to create something that transcends boundaries and is an experience all walks of life can share in. We are excited to have you come along on this journey with us and we look forward to making the best possible film we can make. Thank you so much for your time.
- Matthew Talbot
Right now, the script's final draft has just been finished and the team is anticipating to shoot in Philadelphia in early March. After this project is completed, we are submitting it to several local and regional film festivals. Our hope is to have a small premiere, as well.

Current Team
About This Team
Matthew Talbot is the writer and director of The Night She Was Followed Home and is a Film and Communications double major at Temple University. He got into filmmaking freshman year of highschool after watching a friend’s Snapchat story and immediately had an idea for a film. Since then he’s made ten short films including This is Not a True Story and Peephole. He’s tried his hand at almost every genre except for horror which is why he wrote The Night She Was Followed Home. His junior year of highschool he co-wrote, co-directed, co-starred and edited For Your Convenience, a feature length film. Matthew looks back on the premiere of For Your Convenience and states that is the night he knew he really wanted to pursue filmmaking. Nearly 200 people showed up and he says it was an incredibly special and influential night for him. Matthew also likes to make music videos and videos for Animal Aid USA, an animal rescue organization that he founded the Junior Division of. Matthew is incredibly dedicated to the creation of this film because he thinks the story is very important to tell. He looks forward to working with his immensely talented crew and hopes you both enjoy and are terrified of it.
Hunter Jones is a second year film student at Temple University. He is studying producing, and has produced and worked on several music videos and short films so far. Hunter is always looking for new and innovative projects with compelling stories, and a dark aesthetic. The Night She Was Followed Home checks off all boxes and stands out as an incredible story worth telling. Hunter is a highly skilled and highly committed producer who can’t wait to get to work and release a project everyone is proud of and can’t wait to see!
Kayla Casey is a sophomore in the Film and Media Arts program at Temple University. Her love of storytelling is what got her into film, but along the way, she found a love for producing and plans to study it in her time at Temple. She has worked on several short films in the past and is currently an associate producer for Wailing. She hopes to collaborate on and produce many more wonderful projects in the future. Kayla enjoys watching horror/thriller movies, but has never worked on a project in the horror genre, so she’s excited to get out of her comfort zone with this film. She can’t wait to see what such a talented cast and crew can create for this project!
Zach Rineer is currently a sophomore studying Film and Media Arts at Temple University. At eight years old, Zach starting out making stop motion shorts and progressed to live-action projects over the course of several years, creating mostly action and comedic genre films. In 2018, Zach discovered a newfound appreciation for the horror / psychological thriller genre with films such as The VVitch, Get Out, and Hereditary. While at Temple, Zach wrote and directed the films “Delivery Night” and “8 A.M.s” in an attempt to recapture some of the themes and genre explored in his favorite films. These films each received recognition from festivals such as the Indie Originals Festival and the Independent Talents Film Festival. Zach hopes to continue collaborating and developing projects with his peers at Temple and is determined to concentrate in the Directing Track and create a Feature film during the rest of his time at Temple. Other interests of Zach’s outside of watching and creating films are creating music, going to live concerts, and snowboarding. Zach will be working as the gaffer on “The Night She Was Followed Home” and is extremely eager to be working with such a talented and dedicated crew on a project that is based in one of his favorite genres.
Dan Baldwin is a junior Film and Media Arts student at Temple University. He has been engaged in filmmaking since his high school days where he truly found a passion for it. He has worked on several short films since then and having a YouTube channel has given him experience in several aspects of filmmaking but specifically post production. While having worked on films like Dead King’s Crown, and currently producing Safeguard, action and science fiction films are his main interest. However, the horror genre is next on the list. He is excited to work with a talented crew and cast to edit and piece together a terrifying story.
