"This is Meg" is about a successful comedienne and actress--scratch that!

Jill-Michele Meleán as Meg

This is Meg” is a transparent look about a comedienne/actress whom people would consider successful but is stuck in her own torment and delusion of her existence.

Meg is not married, doesn’t have kids and her career is not fulfilling those gaps in her life.  She’s questioning her decisions because her life’s expectations have not been met. The business of Hollywood Glam has changed to Twitter followers, making 10 seconds online videos and she’s still playing the Hollywood game with the rule book of five years ago.

Moments of defeat will not drag Meg down.  She is determined that there is something bigger out there and searches for clarity.  Meg reaches a human revolution that will manifest in just one week. Is this her “a-ha” moment that changes her perception? Can she find the balance to laugh with her audience and not need their laughter for self approval?

Writer/director Alex Ferrari has been in the film industry for over 20 years working on features, shorts, commercials and music videos. After being attached to direct multiple features over the years that never came to pass Alex finally decided to take control and not wait around to get permission to make his film.

So he called up his good friend and college Jill-Michele Meleán, who's been in the acting and comedy side of the business for over a decade, and this This is Meg was born.

Alex told Jilly he wanted to make a film about the crazy stories that she's been telling me for years. A story about being a comic/actress in Hollyweird and the struggles to make a living as an artist in today's ever changing world.

They jumped on the crazy train together and rallied the troops.

Alex Ferrari (Director/Producer/Co-Writer): Alex has been in the film industry for over 20 years and have worked on over 1000 feature films, shorts, commercials, music videos, network promos, documentaries and webisodes. His film projects have been screened in 600+ film festivals around the world.

Alex exploded onto the indie film scene with his award winning short film BROKEN. The film went on to screen at over 200 international festivals and has been reviewed by over 250 news outlets world-wide including famed film critic Roger Ebert.

"Broken is essentially a demonstration of the mastery of horror imagery and techniques."
- Roger Ebert.

Through self-distribution, the BROKEN: Special Edition DVD has also sold over 5000 units world-wide. Produced on a budget of $8000 and boasting over 100 vfx shots, BROKEN was one of the most celebrated shorts in recent years.

Jill-Michele Meleán (Writer/Producer): Jill-Michele Meleán, "Jilly" was born and raised in Miami, Florida (aka Cuba). She declared at a young age that she wanted to be like Bette Davis, Joan Crawford and Benny Hill. Jilly started in Theatre and toured with The Coconut Grove Playhouse (which is the Broadway of Miami).

In 2000, she moved Los Angeles and needed to be on stage. She took her natural comedic timing to the Standup Stage, headlining across the country while continuing her Acting career. After many years of hard work, she's made a name for herself in the Comedy Television world with memorable performances on FOX's "MadTV" and Comedy Central's "Reno 911". However, her first love is her dramatic acting career. As she continues her theatrical Film and Television career, she'll never stop making people laugh.

There are two big ways you can support this project:

DONATE! We only have a limited amount of time to raise our funding goal, and with Seed & Spark, we need to get to at least 80% to keep the mula. That means if you'd like to help, please consider donating. Whatever you can afford and no amount is too small.

SPREAD THE WORD! Please let your friends know about the project--Crowdfunding works best when there's a crowd! So, if you're an indie filmmaker let your friends know that we are making a crazy micro budget film and they can watch how we do it. If you're a fan of "MadTV," let other fans know.

One of the best ways to help this project succeed is by spreading the word on Social Media, so please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. And then please share our campaign on these platforms. Or email your friends about the film. We can't thank you enough!

We're offering all kinds of awesome stuff in return for your support. The more you give, the better you get! Of course, we appreciate donations of any size. Here are just some of the items available; you can see all the incentives over to the right:
