Together explores single motherhood, domestic abuse, and the ways children cope with trauma through an intimate mother-son story. We strive to represent the invisible abuse some families face, while also raising awareness for important support systems for victimized families, mothers, and children.

Story
Mission Statement
Domestic violence and abuse disproportionately affects low income families and homeless individuals. By telling a personal story, we hope to be able to help represent a small part of the complex experience shared by victims whom otherwise may not have substantial and fair representation in media.About The Project

Current Team
About This Team
Ian Tan - Producer
Ian is an up and coming producer based in New York City. Aside from short films he currently produces as a Film & Television Production major at NYU, Ian has also produced a number of advertisements, branded content, and documentaries, the largest being a six-figure documentary following the first National Youth Orchestra of China, directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Christine Choy. Nowadays, Ian tries to find ways to develop films that impact the lives of his viewers beyond the screen, continuing a passion for humanitarian work that began at a young age.
David Orlando - Producer
David is currently an undergraduate Film and Television Production major at NYU. After working in New York’s theater scene for a number of years, David transitioned into the world of independent filmmaking soon after arriving at NYU. In addition to the work he produces as part of the Film and Television major, he is also in charge of all of the video content for legendary jazz drummer Billy Cobham, and has been working as part of the production team on Christine Choy’s upcoming documentary about the National Youth Orchestra of China.
Andrew Lin - Cinematographer
Andrew Lin moved from Bangkok, Thailand to study Cinematography as a Film and Television Production Major at NYU. Through his prior experience as a visual effects artist at Prime Focus World in London on large scale features like The Martian (2015), Andrew developed a deep understanding of the visual development process. In his work, Andrew combines a rich cultural background as a half-Korean half-Taiwanese filmmaker with strong technical skills working in cinematography departments for independent shorts and features in New York. His work has shown at festivals such as National Film Festival for Talented Youth. Moving forward, Andrew seeks to tell stories with the power to change minds.
Audrey Yin - Associate Producer
Audrey is a rising senior at Phillips Exeter Academy. Her passion for filmmaking started when she received her first camera at the age of five. The off-brand, neon pink camcorder quickly became her first outlet for self-expression and played a crucial role in the development of her artistic lens. Her documentary series on combatting stress received gold awards at the Shanghai American School Annual Film Festival, and is still being used by school counsellors to coach parents and faculty on how to foster healthy intra-familial communication. At Exeter, she continues to make films for her independent organization, HapPEA (www.happea.org), with the goal of spreading empathy and sparking dialogue about topics surrounding social issues. She intends to major in arts and film in college.
