**STRETCH GOALS**
Our $12,000 goal is the absolute minimum we need to raise for production.
- If we raise an additional $5,500, we'll be able to cover pre-production costs including operating costs, and wages for our creative team, production crew, and cast.
- If we raise an additional $12,000, we'll be able to purchase equipment for production, cover travel costs for non-local crew, secure location for production, and purchase on-set meals for the cast and crew during production.
- If we raise an additional $17,000, we'll be able to pay for our sound design, coloring, editing, and other post-production costs.
- If we raise an additional $25,000, we'll be able to cover film festival submissions and widespread promotion ensuring Tweet's story will reach the largest possible audience.

TRUFFLE SAUCE, a drama short, is about Tweet, a tattoo artist, who needs to pay one more bill in order to graduate from community college to fulfill the agreement with her grandparents. Graduate = get a tattoo shop. But Tweet keeps letting life get in the way. Not this time. She's gonna sell the damn truffle sauce - regardless of this perky store clerk who wouldn't give you an extra ketchup in the drive thru like its coming out of her pocket - pay her bill, and start over... for real this time. That is until a customer arrives and begins to push her into a setback. Shit. Now, the woman who has been on the other side of the line during Tweet's lack luster customer service and working her last nerve is her only ally.
TRUFFLE SAUCE comes from experience. As an artist living the gig life, the hustle is real. No time to be picky about where the coin comes from even if that means selling truffles when you don't even know WTF a truffle is. Tweet's story is a story not often told, but shared by so many. If you have ever needed a second chance and would stop at nothing to get on the right track, we are asking that you support this project today, so we can tell YOUR story.

Orange hair, tattoo artist. It’s hers but it’s kinda unkempt like she just decided to go natural. She's a fuck up trying to get life right but she sucks at it. A princess. A ghetto princess. But a princess nonetheless.
Store Clerk
She was probably thinner in her day, but you know... life. She's perky. Hospitable. And takes her job way too effin seriously for Tweet.

Man
His cologne isn't as expensive as he'd like everyone to think. He's smooth. White teeth. Sexy except for the toxic masculinity. He's a user and he's got Tweet in his grip.
We will begin casting soon. If you would like to be considered for one of the roles, please send a headshot to: [email protected]. All actors must be Houston based.

While it is widely known as the energy capital of the world (We'll see if that title holds up after the devastating loss many suffered in recent weeks), Houston has so much to offer. Austin is known as the arts district of Texas and we're giving Houston an opportunity to add to the Texas film industry. So, IYO Visuals owned by Isaac Yowman, director, has opened it's new headquarters and is ready for even more production. We're excited to be working together again and bringing independent film to the H. As we continue casting, we'll post pictures, videos and stories about our homegrown talent. If you're a Houston-based business, contact us to get involved. #leggo

This campaign will help us bring money to the pockets of artists in our hometown of Houston, TX, who were not only affected by COVID-19 but also the unprecedented freeze in February 2021 that left many without power and water for more than 72 hours. Art has saved us during this time. When theaters closed and films had to halt production, it was artists who became creative via social media to keep us all entertained. But they did so without any financial return. We want to do our part and help reinvigorate the arts in Houston by using local talent, creatives, crew, production companies, locations and vendors to produce TRUFFLE SAUCE. #HoustonStrong

Most people would probably agree that 2020 was a HOT MESS!
Although 2021 started out not looking much different than its predecessor, the TRUFFLE SAUCE team determined that this was going to be the year that we share Tweet's story with the world, and we hit the ground running to launch the project in late summer/early fall of this year.
Our project roadmap outlines our journey for the year. We are currently raising capital for pre-production (Hello, Seed&Spark Family!) which will enable us to hire a diverse, world-class cast and crew, scout for the optimal location, and finalize scheduling to ensure that production is safe and successful. We hope you'll join us on this journey to share Tweet's story.

In addition to the Seed&Spark campaign, we are also hosting virtual events to engage our audience in fun, interactive experiences and raise awareness about the film, reaching out to individuals and businesses around sponsorship opporutnities, and submitting applications to various film grant programs.

About This Team

Shannan E. Johnson, writer and EP of TRUFFLE SAUCE, is a native Houstonian and former creative executive at The Syfy Channel who quit her day job to become a touring artist. She spent a little less than a decade traveling to more than 19 countries and 48 states in dance companies and Broadway national tours. Once her body was over being stressed TF out, she turned her side hustle into her full-time career as a script consultant becoming the CEO of the first black-owned script consultant agency. While she spends most of her time helping others develop their content, including being a writer for hire on projects like the viral, visual tribute ALL SCREWED UP, she sometimes gets an opportunity to create her own world and characters. As a writer, Shannan has been a finalist in the Warner Bros. TV Workshop, Film Pipeline, WeScreenplay, and the AT&T Hello Lab.
