Mission Statement
We are a group of passionate young filmmakers, which all of us carries a same topic for the rest of our lives, our family. This film digs deep into some family conflicts that centers around forgiveness. An irresponsible father, an accountable son, how does both get along to keep hold of this family?About The Project
Logline:
Being the only child since birth, the young teenager has always wished for a blissful family, though he has an abusive and neglected father in his early days. Alongside with the passing of his mother, the father and son attempt to reconnect as a family.
The story begins with our protagonist, Jun Jie -- a young teenager who has a broken relationship with his father. Ever since the passing of his mother, he has been surviving alone but also been seemingly helping his father financially. Like any other households, a man should always been the head of the family. However, that wasn't the case for Jun Jie.
Despite being a quiet boy, he has not been sharing his thoughts to the people around him but to the church. Overtime, he realizes that forgiveness has been a key to their lives. Nonetheless, he has always wished for a blissful family too.
As we go along with Jun Jie's journey, he finally learns the truth of his family and how they could slowly reconcile as a family. As a storyteller myself, I love creating stories that are traditional and cultural to my own roots. Along my journey through some personal experiences, this story not only gives us an insight on the relationship between the father and the son, but also to reveal both of their perspectives in their lives.
Growing up, I've always learnt that a man should always be responsible for the upbringing of the family. In this case, I would want to explore the both characters in such where we will see Jun Jie as the head of the family instead of his father.I've always passionate about making films. I would love to leave a positive impact on the screens with my films, and connecting with my audiences. With this opportunity, I hope to bring this story to life and premiere it onto the big festivals screens. A long journey ahead!
A mixture of warm and cold textures in these choices of elements. Through this drama, we hope to convey a visual impact of hate and forgiveness. Ranging from cinematography and production designers, we witness the bubble of life of these two characters, the connection betweem them, and how their lives has been put altogether.
Two distinctive lives, two worlds apart who have been through mourning, grief and sorrow. It all comes down to their paths as family members, to learn to forgive and to love unconditionally.
Our script is ready to go, our team/crew members has been gathered, cast is set as well. Well... what's the next step? Before achieving this huge goal of mine to make this film in reality, we will require your help in the next phase in order to run the production!
As a young asian filmmaker, I've always dreamt of winning the Cannes Festivals, Berlin, Busan, etc. It's a dream goal of mine to tag along my films in the international events where I could possibly scattered a light through my stories with diverse crowds. Besides getting to gain more experiences or exposure, it is our goal to bring forth these amazing authentic nor unheard stories to the rest of the world with exquisite cinematic experience.
Our team would be required to raise at least $10,000.00 to lend us a hand to make this project come to life. I can't wait to share this film to you all.
With your generous contributions and help, we can afford to:1) Rent quality cinematic industry equipments and gadgets, allowing us a wide range of capability to reach a top notch of fantastic cinematography.
2) Fork out rentals for multiple key locations for the entire period of the production.
3) Hand out neccessary funds and supplies to our friendly crew members and awesome cast, to help boosting creativity and efficiency.
4) Participate in different big festivals across the globe, to promote our film and show what we are capable of!
My Past Achievements:"Kindergarten" has won the Bright Future Award in the 8th Seoul Giro International Film Festival in the year of 2020. Our team is invited to the award ceremony in Busan, but then we were being restricted since the pandemic has started.
So... you've now heard our bare minimum needed to get this film production started. Now let's talk about the goals beyond the limits:
- If we raise $15,000, contingency plans are up for good in case something goes wrong. But, fingers crossed! We could also cover some funds into post-production like color grading and such.
- If we raise $20,000, we are definitely upgrading our camera and lighting packages! Besides, we would have much more freedom to upgrade our production sets.
- If we raise $25,000, we're able to pay the producers and the director who are not earning a single penny from this project. We could also afford a higher pay rate for all our suppliers.
We've tried our best to reach out to the people around our network via texts, emails and even physical pitches. In conjunction to the next step, I hope our campaign will be able to share it across new platforms and new communities that is way beyond our reach.
If you're interested to help us out and make this film come through just as much as we do, you can help us to share this campaign on your social medias as well. Your help would mean so much to us!
