Story
About The Project
Synopsis: At a funeral home in the midwest, estranged son Charlie is in town from California to attend his father's funeral. Meanwhile, Charlie's mother, Bea, is trying to cope with the loss of her husband who meant the world to her. During the course of the afternoon, Charlie reveals his anger and anguish toward his father, while Bea travels a road of denial, fantasy & wonder. Will the discussions of the afternoon strengthen the relationship between mother and son? Or will it drive them further apart? This dark one-act play adapted for film features two people who are not only separated by distance, but also by a haunted past.
Backstory: Barb asked her friend Mark to write her a two person scene for her scene-study class. When she & Billy did the scene in class, the teacher urged them to film it. They were able to crowdfund enough money from the 1st Kickstarter to put together an incredible team, resulting in a great short film. The entire team is very proud of it and wants to submit it into film festivals.
