Hey, I'm Eseoghene!

Chicago, Illinois

Eseoghene Obrimah is a writer and producer from Lagos, Nigeria (#NaijaNoDeyCarryLast). Her purpose is to tell stories that address the complexities that come with being ABlack whether on the African continent or as part of the African diaspora. She’s interested in using mystical realism, fantasy, horror and africanfuturism to explore that idea, highlighting topics such as religion, women’s issues, neocolonialism, immigration and culture.

The motivation behind her work comes from a quote from Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, “Culture doesn’t make people, people make culture.” Ese wants to write and produce films that challenge the status quo and influence culture and provoke people to create change through action.
