Hey, I'm Maisha!

As a writer/director, Maisha has experience in the development of new media, stage and short-form creative content. She is the writer and director of the play Nina and Troyboy, which was slated to premiere at the 2020 Hollywood Fringe Festival and had readings with Inkwell Theater and the Greater Film Fest’s 30 at 30 in Los Angeles. The play is currently being adapted as a short film to be produced in early 2021.
She has written a number of pilots and has penned and produced short films which have been official selections for The Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival, Urban Media Makers Film Festival and the MCNY 5th Annual Short Film Festival in New York City. Her most recent short, which she wrote and directed through AT&T Create-A-Thon is an official selection of The BHERC 2020 25th Annual African-American Film Marketplace in Los Angeles.
Maisha was also the recipient of the Honoree of the Year Award from the Student Digital Art and Cinema Committee of New York City for her work on the teen web series, Life Unscripted, in which she is writer/creator. The series, an official selection at multiple film festivals, earned the Top Ten Youth Film Audience Award at the 12th Annual Urban-Media Makers Festival in Atlanta, Ga.
