Shees Park Sharjah: Khorfakkan's Latest Stunning Attraction
Shees Park Sharjah was launched recently in Sharjah, and it has already become an amazing place to visit. That’s thanks to the park’s astounding attractions, which are right out of an Arabian fairy tale! With a children’s play area and other entertainment options, Shees Park Sharjah is perfect for families looking to have fun together while keeping the kids entertained! What is Shees Park?
Shees park is a 20,000-square meter space surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and located along the northern coast of Khorfakkan overlooking the Arabian Gulf. The park has more than 30 varieties of palm trees and over 1,400 different species of plants, which makes it an exceptional place for nature lovers to visit. It features a children’s play area with boats and sandpits, while its beach is also suitable for surfers and swimmers alike.
Where is it located?
Shees Park is located along Al Khan beach road in Khorfakkan, near Um Al Hassam Palace. The park spans over 65 acres and features a skate park, an amphitheater and various spots for picnics. The facilities include restrooms, water taps and electricity outlets for recreational vehicles.
The park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., except Friday (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) and Sunday (2-8 p.m. ); Entrance fees are Dh15 for adults, Dh5 for children aged 6-12, and free for children under 6 years old; A fee of Dh25 per car applies on Fridays only; Free parking is available at Al Majaz Waterfront, opposite Shees Park; Transport options include buses that stop in front of Al Majaz Waterfront or taxis that can be hailed at any time of day.
Visiting Shees park is easy. Admission for adults will cost 2 dirhams and for children 5 dirhams with families costing 15 dirhams. A season pass can be purchased at 50 dirhams which means unlimited visits to Shees from now until December 2015! (Only available until 31st August)
What are the attractions?
Shees park is a new tourist attraction in Khorfakkan, not far from Dubai. It is known for its coral gardens and stunning views of many attractions like mangroves, seagrass beds, coral reefs and much more. The park offers a range of activities including snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding. The most popular activity though is scuba diving which can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels. There are also plenty of picnic areas where you can enjoy your food while admiring nature’s beauty around you.
How to Get There
Shees Park is located in Al Yarmook, Khorfakkan on a beautiful hilltop. Getting there is easy via any of these methods: Car, taxi or bus (Khorfakkan). The park can also be reached by water taxis from Dubai and Sharjah. It’s approximately an hour-long journey from Dubai and 45 minutes from Sharjah. There are no parking facilities at Shees Park, so visitors are advised to park their vehicles outside of Khorfakkan City Centre. There are designated parking areas for visitors outside of town. Visitors should take note that there is no public transport available to or from Shees Park after sunset. As such, it’s recommended that visitors bring their own transportation to reach and leave the site as needed during their visit.
