Hey, I'm Sam!
Portland, Oregon
Sam Bangs is from a small town in Southern New Hampshire, where she began singing and dancing as soon as she could talk. Her performance career began with a focus on musical theater, starting with a short stint at Marymount Manhattan College's musical theater program, before transferring into the University of Miami's acting conservatory. It was at the University of Miami she found her love of acting for the camera, so she picked up a film minor in addition to her stage training.
After graduation, Sam worked on Rock of Ages while they were filming in Miami, before moving to Los Angeles. She hustled both on stage and screen, most notably in the 2013 stage revival of Trainspotting at the Elephant Theatre, as well as various commercials... until she became pregnant.
After the birth of her first son, Sam moved with her (now) husband to Portland where she balances her creative career with motherhood. In 2017, she made her return to the screen for the opening scenes of Dean Devlin's Bad Samaritan, and to the stage where she received glowing reviews for starring as Lady Anne in Enso Theatre's She is Fierce. Since then she's worked in various commercials (Kroger, Buick, BMW, Bonne Maman), photo campaigns (ACE Fitness, Teavana) and several short films. Most recently she booked a national commercial with her real-life husband and son!
In the midst of developing and writing This is Fine, Sam gave birth to her second son in the summer of 2021. When she's not acting, you'll probably find her adventuring with her boys, trying out a new recipe, or lifting weights.
