Movies usually end after the worst thing happens.
Life doesn't.
Your roommate still needs to borrow something.
Your laundry still needs to get done.
Life goes on.
But how do you?

Dylan hasn't left her dorm room in weeks.
After a traumatic event derails her freshman year, her best friend, Lola, convinces her to do the last thing Dylan wants to do….
call a sexual assault hotline.
What follows isn't the breakthrough either of them expected. It's awkward, frustrating, and might just be the first tiny step toward feeling like herself again.
This a movie about friendship.
About the people who keep texting.
Who keep showing up.
Who refuse to let you disappear.
We want to tell the story that usually gets skipped.
Not the moment everything falls apart...the months afterward.
The moment you decided to (literally) put on real pants again and face the world.
Even if it’s the first baby step.
On a personal note, some of the filmmakers are survivors themselves. They bring their own stories of healing and recovery into A Little Cracked. Our director spent time talking with over 100 survivors of all ages and experiences to ensure this is a honest and ethical story.
Recovery isn't a straight line.
It's messy. Embarrassing. Absurd.
Sometimes heartbreaking.
Sometimes hilarious.
That's the movie we want to make.

Maybe it wasn't trauma. Maybe it was grief.
Depression. Anxiety. A breakup. Burnout.
Maybe you just had a week where leaving the house felt impossible.
If you've ever wondered whether you'll ever feel like yourself again...
Then, this movie is for you.
We kept coming back to one question.
Why do movies spend so much time showing the traumatic event... and so little time showing recovery?
Recovery isn't one triumphant speech.
It's ordinary life.
It's your best friend dragging you out for coffee.
It's laughing at something when you didn't think you ever would again.
It's taking one step outside after weeks of staying inside.
That's the story we want to tell. And we need some angels to make it happen.

We're making A Little Cracked independently in Brooklyn as a proof of concept for our Academy recognized, Nicholl Fellowship semifinalist, feature screenplay. Your support helps us hire incredible artists, pay them, complete post-production, and share this story with audiences through festivals and beyond. While this short is a complete story on its own, it will introduce us to a potential future feature's characters, tone, and world.

About This Team
Virginia Tucker: Director, Writer, Producer
Virginia is a multi-hyphenate, director - writer - actress. Starting in front of the camera at age 14, she slowly made a realization. For a long time, it felt like Gen Z was not writing Gen Z, especially female characters. Virginia founded her company, AudreyDay, to focus on telling stories about the true female experience: our imperfections, our flaws, our wrinkles, and our secrets. Social issue dark comedy is her storytelling focus.
Her AWARD-WINNING short, TOUCHED, starring Maddie Nichols (Emergency, Sundance 2022), screened at festivals across the country and partnered with NGOs for the release. Virginia’s feature length script for A Little Cracked, which she is now fundraising to make as a short film, was a semifinalist in the ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURES Nicholl’s screenwriting competition.
Virginia’s experience as an actor and coach informs her love for directing, especially with young actors. Her on screen credits include the upcoming Charlie Harper (TIFF 25), Bottoms (SXSW 2023), Nightmare Tenant + Wicked Mom’s Club (Lifetime), “Queer as Folk” (Peacock), “Leverage: Redemption” (IMDB TV), and “Criminal Minds” (CBS).
Doron JéPaul Mitchell: Writer, Producer
Doron is a New York based writer, director, actor whose artistry stands at the intersection of faith, craftsmanship, and cinematic style. He received his MFA from NYU’s Graduate Acting Program and has appeared on Broadway in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, THE PIANO LESSON, and most recently OUR TOWN, starring four-time Emmy Award® winner Jim Parsons, Katie Holmes, Richard Thomas, Zoey Deutsch and Ephraim Sykes. Recently, he completed the workshop production of Anna Deavere Smith’s new work, Basil Biggs.
Behind the camera, Doron serves as a producer and director of development for film and television, working with clients from New York and Los Angeles to the American Southwest. His production company, Thermostat Media, develops scripted and unscripted content that is as thought-provoking as it is visually compelling. His producing credits include Ben and Suzanne: A Reunion in 4 Parts (SXSW), Black Album Mixtape (NYSAF and Regina Taylor) and Self//Tape (Cinereach). His film debut REST was recently distributed by Black Public Media as a part of their AfroPop Shorts initiative with PBS.
Sophia Liao: Producer
Sophia is a New York-based producer passionate about championing independent films that spark empathy and meaningful conversation. She brings a background in strategy and storytelling to the project through her work in content strategy at the NBA. Outside of filmmaking, she serves on the Junior Board of Hot Bread Kitchen, supporting economic opportunity for women and immigrants in New York. A Little Cracked is her latest producing project.
Molly Scotti: Director of Photography
Molly is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker, cinematographer, and photographer. A 2022 graduate of Wesleyan University’s film program, her short film “The Christening” won multiple awards at the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival and the Pittsburgh Moving Picture Festival’s Thriller Picture Show. “The Christening” had its international premiere at Final Girls Berlin in 2023. Her most recent short, Let’s Eat Frank, is currently in post-production. Molly’s work as a director of photography has been screened at South by Southwest, Filmfest München, New/Next Film Festival, and beyond.
In addition to her film work, Molly teaches classes at the documentary film community DCTV in Chinatown and is a regular volunteer at the nonprofit film school and community dark room Mono No Aware.
