The Story
Opening night of 'A Midsummer Night Dream’ is tense, chaotic and full of conflict; when truths are revealed regarding the actors, it is up to Sloan to make sure "the show must go on".
It’s opening night for a small theater company showing “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”’ the Shakespearen
play. The show is about to begin and the director, Sloan, is panicking. They are extremely anxious for the production; the stakes are high. Being the youngest director of the company and being nervous for their parents approval, Sloan is experiencing a challenging time. Little do they know that drama happening backstage during the intermission. Between cheating partners, misunderstandings and gossip, the real drama of this play is happening behind the scenes. It’s up to Sloan to direct and resolve the conflicts so that everything can run smoothly, despite the “teenage drama”. The dynamics of the behind the scenes can be much reflected upon that of the play.
From Miriam Zennaro, Director and Writer.
"My film is about a theater company who puts on the production of "A Midsummer's Night Dream", except each character in the film reflects the relationship and conflicts of a character in the Shakespearean play. It’s up to Sloan, the director of the play, to set everything back into place. My film is a coming of age drama and takes inspiration from "Birdman", directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu. It deals with themes of anxiety, coming of age, misunderstanding, and chaos. This film is meant to be inclusive to all and exhibits themes and concepts of dealing with anxiety even in situations where you are doing something you love, with the people you love. This is a very personal piece to me and I want my audience to know that they are not alone. I hope that they can feel the emotional spiral that Sloan goes through and can empathize with that".
The Pandemic is still very scary and real and the crew of, A Midsummer’s Nightmare, empathizes with that and wants everyone on the crew and cast to be as safe as possible. Everyone working on the production and set will be vaccinated and monitor how they are feeling and their symptoms at times of shooting. If anyone on the crew feels uncomfortable or unsafe, masks or any other measures will be implemented behind the scenes in order for our production to run as smoothly and safely as possible. If there is an instance where we need to take action, a COVID safety plan will be implemented immediately. Our first priority on this set is that everyone feels welcome, comfortable, healthy and most importantly, safe!

This production is a final project for Miriam Zennaro, a New York Film Academy Student. It’s up to the film students to raise and fund for their final project and that is exactly why we are crowdfunding. Not only do we want this project to succeed for Miriam’s final project, we want it to spread to others all over and have as many people share, experience and love this project as much as we do. So, if you are a film expert, a film student yourself, or just someone who loves films, we would appreciate any help you can give us but most of all your support.

About This Team
A group of young aspiring filmmakers trying to make their mark on the world.
Miriam Zennaro: A native Italian and born traveler, Miriam Zennaro only arrived in New York less than a year ago. Miriam is a filmmaker currently studying at New York Film Academy. After living and exploring much of Europe at a young age she has come to New York to explore and cultivate her passion for filmmaking especially where directing and writing stories of young adults for young adults and by young adults is concerned. Though she is young she has made headway by spearheading and contributing to many short films after arriving in New York and is still looking to fine tune and experiment with her visual style. She is still green but her vision and drive excel her to learn and create stories in need of telling.
Zoe Erin Wallace: Zoe Erin Wallace is a student of the world. Born and raised in Atlanta, she was surrounded by the film industry where she learned her love of acting and filmmaking. She has studied intensively at the New York Film Academy with a Bachelors in Acting For Film. She is still there, detemined as ever, to continue her studies in filmmaking so that she can create stories that inspire her and her philosophy of 'we're all human'. Currently resididing and thriving in New York City, Zoe keeps an eyes wide open approach at learning and living.
Eva Malczewski: From Buffalo, New York, Eva is a passionate, bubbly and determined film student studying at CUNY Brooklyn College with an undergraduate degree in Film Production. Deeply infatuated with editing and cinematography, Eva has found herself to be invested in creating emotionally ranging and captivating works that have helped her to cultivate her style and methods of creating. She is passionate about sharing stories that tell the stories of uncomfortable feelings in things like family relationships, mental health and growing up. Eva now resides in New York City to pursue school and enjoys her time exploring art and media in any way possible.
Sam Schucker: Born in Newark, NJ, and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, Sam Schucker grew up a lover of all art. First falling in love with filmmaking after editing home videos to send to family overseas in the Philippines, they have fallen in love with all aspects of filmmaking. They currently studying Film Production at CUNY Brooklyn College and are passionate about telling diverse stories and elevating queer voices. With a lot still left to learn, Sam is excited to further their career as they now reside in New York City. When not working on a creative project with their peers, you can find them either at a concert or admiring the moon.
