Mission Statement
The Story
Sarah, the middle child of three, has to accept the fact that her older sister is moving away, and therefore her childhood is coming closer.
A Precious Moment In Time is loosely based on my experience as a middle child,
only a year and a half apart in age from my older sister. There is something about siblings that
prepares you for the world in a way no other relationship can, they are a forever friend. Being a
woman and growing up with a sister especially teaches me things like kindness and sensitivity,
we pass on the same disposition to our younger brother.
The genre of my film is comedy-drama. I want this film to mimic real life and real
situations. Although this is about a dramatic time of change, life is not one big soap opera, so I
wanted to include elements of comedy. One of those elements is the character Mikey, who
serves as a relaxer for a lot of the dramatic moments. The color palette in the film will be a lot of
m colors, such as orange, yellow, and red; and also earthy colors like green and brown.
Those colors feel very homey to me and help set the tone for a film as such. A lot of the
cinematography will be moving shots and still shots to contrast the emotions that each member
of the family is feeling.
I have always been a nostalgic person, constantly reminiscing on the times I can’t
remember anymore. Time came and went before I could notice, and my sister was moving out
of the house. This was a rude awakening in me, I couldn’t find acceptance in that I would be
doing life without her, and that eventually I would be doing it on my own too, and soon. I was so
hung up on this fear of change and growing up, and I didn’t stop to see if anyone else felt the
same. Childhood is A Precious Moment In Time, a time where we were just learning to walk and
talk, a time I learned how to cope with change, and the inevitability of it. I wanted to make this
film to inspire people to connect with their childhood selves, and to comfort the people who often get lost
in nostalgia.
Goals:
A $1,600 goal is the bare minimum needed to get the film made at a production quality everyone involved can be proud of.
- If we raise $2,000, we will be able to not worry about funding all aspects of the film, we will be able to eat good quality meals on set, and we would make the film we have dreamed of.
Thank you for being part of this campaign and joining us in the making of this film!
