The Story
Abby and Tabby Alone In the Desert is a celebration of female friendships and the strength women find together.
Why is it that women will selflessly help each other just after they’ve met? I’m constantly blown away by the generosity and altruism seen in fellow women. I wanted to make a movie about that. We too often see women competing with each other. Let's take a break from that narrative.
This is also a movie about abuse. How can women help each other out of an abusive situation? How can we tell a story about abuse without answering the problem with more violence? I hope this film will start that conversation.
Abby and Tabby is also a comedy. Because laughter is always needed and we can have fun sometimes, right?

Ashley Lenz // Producer/Writer/"Abby"
Ashley Lenz is the daughter of a Swiss immigrant and a Midwest native and grew up in the small farm town of Lamar, Missouri. At an early age she was involved heavily in multiple athletics, but equestrian sports eventually won out. From the age of 7 Ashley traveled the country showing American Saddlebred horses with much success. Her interest in acting was solidified after a friend invited her to the set of the acclaimed TV show 'Friday Night Lights'. She eventually sold her successful fashion company she started right out of college, packed up her entire life, and headed to New Orleans. Ashley spent her time there acting, writing, directing, self-producing, and absorbing everything she could about the art & the industry. She is described by those around her as an old soul with an Elizabeth Bennet spunk. Ashley currently resides in Los Angeles, where she is applying her trademark gusto and curiosity to the art of acting & filmmaking.
Aaron Jay Rome // Producer/Writer/Actor
Aaron left his hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado shortly after high school to pursue acting. His career is currently on the rise with supporting roles in big films such as The Campaign, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, Get on Up, and TV Shows like The Vampire Diaries and Bonnie & Clyde. At the age of 19, Aaron finally made the move to Los Angeles. He spent 5 years there, learning as much as possible about both sides of the camera, but kept a strong passion for acting. At the age of 25, Aaron, tired of waiting for other people's projects, moved to newly founded and thriving film industry in New Orleans, Louisiana and trained under good friend and coach Dean J. West. (2017) After successfully jump-starting his career, he again resides in Los Angeles frequently writing, directing and producing. With 3 features in various stages of completion (Sulfur, Go Crazy Go Mad, and URYDE) and 3 more slated for this year, a promising indie film career is on the horizon.
Brina Palencia // Actor
Brina Palencia is an actor/musician living and working in Dallas, TX and Los Angeles, CA. She is mostly known for her extensive voice over work in anime (Chopper in One Piece; Ciel in Black Butler) and video games (Moxxi in Borderlands; Paige in The Walking Dead: Michonne). She has also done her fair share on camera starring in the CW series Star-Crossed and guest starring in episodes of The Walking Dead and Castle. On the music side Brina has served as the primary music director for Funimation for almost a decade, adapting anime theme songs from Japanese into English and has sang for numerous anime and video games. She performs her original music at conventions and coffee shops all over the US and plans to release an album by the end of the year.
Benjamin McFadden // Actor
Benjamin is a very recent transplant from Seattle, where he was a regular in regional theatre scene. Most recently, he was the titular role in the feature film Colton, which will be heading to festivals this year. Krishna Smitha // Actor
Krishna Smitha is a Los Angeles-based theatre, televion, and film actress originally from Texas. Favorite roles onstage include Rosalind in "As You Like It" and Ariel in "Tempest." Yup, she's a Shakespe-nerd. On television she's gone from daytime soaps, "Days of our Lives," to primetime soaps, "Dallas." But her most favorite thing to do of all is making movies with her kickass, creative, crazy-talented friends. Let's play! www.KrishnaSmitha.com
Nick Shoemaker // Actor
Born and raised in a small town near Annapolis, Maryland, Nick grew up with a strong interest in the art of film making and TV. Ranging from impromptu school plays to the conventional family camera probing, he's always pursued acting as a hobby since his focus was primarily into sports and tinkering with whatever car lied in his father's garage. After sustaining a career ending football injury, he lost his scholarship and went into the work force committing several years to the Department of Homeland Security. In between the long arduous hours and unpredictable work schedules, Nick would escape to New York City to view plays and enjoy the artsy demographic of the nearby creatives. It wasn't until he saw the Broadway play, 'Once', did he decide to shift 100% focus into the realm of acting. With bags in tow and head in the clouds of inspiration, he made his way to Los Angeles.
