Mission Statement

Inspired by my own experience with loss, About Heaven on Earth explores how, in our most desperate moments, believing the impossible can feel easier than facing reality. This film is my love letter to those searching for their own heaven on earth.

The Story

Micaela has lost everyone she ever loved.

Isolated from the world, she drifts through a numb, silent routine.

But beneath the surface, a relentless longing begins to consume her.

Kyle’s words from the grief support group keep circling in her mind.

“Somewhere deep in the mountains, there’s a place where you can meet the dead.”

She knows it can’t be real. Yet, in her deepening grief,

she begins to hope, one last time.

Her journey toward this so-called “heaven on earth” begins to blur

the line between reality and fantasy,

until she finds herself standing on the fragile edge between life and death.

At the edge of everything, a final choice remains.

Will she endure the piercing pain of the present and carry on in a world without her loved ones?

Or will she take the final step into the true heaven where they might be waiting?

About Heaven on Earth is deeply inspired by my real-life experiences with grief, serving as a culmination of the love and memories left behind by my grandparents and uncle. While the story navigates the heavy, desperate moments of loss, we prioritize the emotional truth of how grief transforms us.

This film is not about finding religion or easy closure; it’s about how, at our lowest points, we yearn to believe what keeps us alive, simply because it is easier than facing a reality without them. It is a personal love letter to everyone searching for their own heaven on earth. We believe it is essential to share this story right now, and we hope it meets you wherever you are on your journey.

With this campaign, we are raising $6,000 to bring the rest of this film to life. We are already in the midst of production, pouring our hearts into every frame. The funds raised will directly support our dedicated team and ensure every aspect of this world is crafted with intention and care.

Where Are We At Right Now? We are running full steam ahead! We are actively in production, capturing the raw, emotional core of our script, texturing our production design, and ensuring our tight-knit crew has everything they need to make this vision a reality.

Any amount helps us tremendously. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting this project and being interested in the story we wish to tell. Every pledge, every share, and every warm thought brings us one step closer to bringing this vision to life.

We truly cannot do this without you.

About This Team

Jackson Seohee Han - Writer, Director, Producer

Hello, my name is Jackson Seohee Han, and I am the writer, director, and producer of About Heaven on Earth.

For me, nothing is more fascinating than the process of turning a fleeting idea into a powerful visual story that people can actually see and feel. This project is incredibly close to my heart because it stems from a deeply personal experience. Collaborating with the creative team I met in college has been a gift; our strengths beautifully complement each other's weaknesses, creating a powerful synergy that successfully translates words onto the screen.

Alex Santos - Associate Producer, Production Sound Mixer

Hello, my name is Alex Santos! I’m the Associate Producer and Sound Mixer for About Heaven on Earth. I got my start in film through my family, they used to take me out to the movies all the time and it’s what pushed me to make films, to bring families together and to have a great experience. With About Heaven on Earth being about how far someone is willing to go to see her family again it brings me nothing but hope and excitement to see how it will come out on the big screen.

Gabriel Ortega - Associate Producer, Director of Photography

Hi! My name is Gabriel Ortega. I’m the Associate Producer and Director of Photography for About Heaven on Earth. What started as a hobby to make YouTube videos as a child, grew to become a deep love for visual storytelling. It brings me a lot of joy to collaborate with others and visualize experiences that resonate with and move people.

Jackie Vlahos - Marketing Manager, Still Photographer

Hi, I’m Jackie! While I'm usually in front of the camera as an actor, I had the wonderful opportunity to work behind the scenes on About Heaven on Earth. I met Jackson, Alex, and Gabe on one of Alex's previous sets and have loved collaborating with them ever since. What I love most about filmmaking is how people come together with a shared passion to help bring each other's visions to life. This project is a beautiful exploration of grief, memory, and the ways we continue to carry our loved ones with us long after they're gone.
