After Life Crisis was created during the hectic weekend of the 48 hour film project in New Orleans last year. When Sam Lee (the actor playing Malcolm) came up with the idea of a "ghost who wants to quit," it felt like the room was hit by lightning. This story hit home to me, because the event took place three days after I quit a job that had made me feel like a ghost. It resulted in our team, Half Glass Productions, winning Best Film for the year, along with several other awards.
Weeks after the event, the story of After Life Crisis stayed with us. The more we thought about it, the more we believed there was a whole world to explore. So, full of momentum, adrenaline, and moxy, we wrote, planned, and began to produce the web series last year in October.
Unfortunately, COVID intervened, so we adjusted the shooting schedule on the fly. COVID, however, would not be deterred, and our window closed before we could finish shooting.
This team, however, refuses to let bygones be bygones.
Simply put... We are POSSESSED!

During our first attempt, the entire cast and crew worked for free on pure passion and good will. This time, we want to make sure they are compensated for their efforts.
Your contributions will primarily go towards ensuring everyone working on this project is paid a daily rate for their work and fed more than just pizza and chips.
When we reach our target goal, we'll be able to fund essential production costs and secure locations that will allow us to have more control and manipulation of the environment for our artistic purposes.
We plan on shooting After Life Crisis in early May of this year. We have an incredible crew of experienced filmmakers and actors working tirelessly to plan out the schedule and production process of our series. We will be submitting to film festivals once it’s finished so we hope to invite you to screenings all over the country in the near future!
Finally, the best way you can help After Life Crisis grow and succeed is to spread the word!
There's no point in creating an amazing web series without having an amazing audience to share it with. So make sure you tell your family, friends, coworkers, babysitters, book/wine club members, softball teammates, bartenders, golf buddies, old high school flames, plumber, and anyone else you can think of about After Life Crisis!

Ben is a deeply personal character to me. His struggles closely mirror my own struggles, and I believe they mirror the struggles of many other people out there. After Life Crisis is a story that was conceived on the heels of difficult personal decisions. A mid-life crisis, if you will.
I felt like a Specter. A ghost that could be walked through, ignored, or dismissed as a memory of something that didn't need to be worried about. The only way I was able to have any value or substance was for someone else to assign it to me.
I felt like a Spectator. When someone would assign me any value or substance, it felt hollow and empty because I hadn't been able to give it to myself. Like a sports fan that claims to be a champion because the team they root for won the championship, I didn't feel like I'd done anything to actually earn it.
So I decided to be something else.
