Mission Statement

The A Gettysburg Haunting team cares to learn from history in order to make a brighter future for ourselves and those around us. We're creating character-driven horror with heart, promoting social diversity, and confronting tough topics head on all in the name of the genre we love.

The Story

A Gettysburg Haunting is the story of Andre, a clairvoyant transient who’s travelling the United States to make amends with his estranged grandmother.

The story starts after he answers an ad that offers room and board in return for otherworldly services - an ad created by Thomas, a naïve dreamer seeking a medium to help kickstart his radio show with the objective of going viral.

But Andre’s journey takes a turn when he encounters a paranormal phenomenon during the show that blocks his ability to speak to the dead.

The first time I went to Gettysburg, I couldn’t help but think about the impact that the battle that took place there had and continues to have on my life as a Black man living in the United States.

Regardless of those touring to admire Confederate monuments, others were there to to learn about and praise how the battle shifted the outcome of the Civil War for the better: the outcome that those enslaved hoped for.

So why now? I believe we can accomplish anything when we come together as one people but we’re often hindered in our progression by ideologies passed down to us. A Gettysburg Haunting is adventurous and scary, but it’s a heartfelt tale with great characters and dialogue, touching on relevant social topics such as systemic racism and class difference.

Navigating relationships is hard.

A Gettysburg Haunting is about knowing when to walk away and when to reconcile relationships. And when you care about others, the answer is never easy.

EDWIN is an actor born and raised in Houston, Texas. He is currently earning his MFA in Acting from the University of Arkansas.

JEREMY is a Houston based actor. He earned his BFA in musical theatre at Sam Houston State University.

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is a massive graveyard known for paranormal activity. Over the years, tourists have frequently reported hearing and seeing ghosts.

If you search online you will come across these accounts, and though there are many, there's never been a narrative film focused on the lore that plagues the land, and it's that lore that lures Andre and Thomas to this paranormal hotspot, but they're put to the test as they encounter A Gettysburg Haunting.

I call this Travel Horror.

This film is NOT found footage. It was important for me to give you a sense of the tone of A Gettysburg Haunting, so earlier this year I traveled to the actual production locations where the film will be shot, captured video of them myself, and created two Video Moodboards you can find under the "Media" tab at the top of this page.

From a quaint home all the way to Gettysburg, the story is constantly on the move but never leaves the view of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains.

A Gettysburg Haunting is scheduled for production May 15th-31st, 2023. Shooting will take place in WV, VA, and PA. We are a fully vaccinated team and our Covid 19 policy covers pre-departure, traveling, and on-set protocols to ensure the safety of our cast, crew, and those we come in contact with.

In the meantime we'll be working on table reads, additional scouting, shotlisting, interviews with the main cast and producers, and much more, many of which we'll share with our supporters through our social media accounts!

If you're a horror lover who appreciates the genre's ability to elicit a variety of human emotions as a means to make the world a better place, and specifically in the case of this story, in regards to class and race relations, then this project is for you.

How can you help? Thankfully, we've already secured post-production funds, but we need your financial support for production. Any amount that we receive that succeeds our goal will go towards unexpected expenses, further supporting cast and crew, and enhancing the quality of the film. We've created incentives for you to team up with us to get this film made (instant deliveries may take a day or two).

PARANORMAL PRODUCERS

My name is GABE. I was born and raised south of Seattle in Washington State, but I currently reside in picturesque Virginia. Traveling the US and abroad shaped who I am today, but let’s be real, so did rap music and Nintendo 64.

I'm an ex-Christian and ex-Police Officer, and those aspects usually show in my work. Most importantly, I'm a dad to two daughters, 8 and 6, who enjoy bossing me around (but I don't care because they have me wrapped around their fingers).

My favorite horror film is The Witch!

THOMAS grew up on Long Island in a small coastal town. He then went south to Virginia for college and graduate school and never moved back home. Currently, he's in Washington, DC.

For the next decade+, Thomas worked at one of the largest accounting firms, traveling the world and leading financial investigations.

Basically, Thomas is a former corporate sellout, born-again creative who loves to write fun-ass, heartfelt movies almost as much as being an ancient skateboarder.

Thomas' favorite horror film is Scream!

ANNABELLE is a UK based screenwriter, director, and voice over artist. She is also a best selling author with three women’s fiction novels under her belt: "Chasing Clouds," "Endless Autumn," and "The Matchmaker's Match." Annabelle studied filmmaking at the world renowned National Film and Television School.

Annabelle's hobbies are food, film, and French bulldogs.

She couldn't choose one favorite horror film: It Follows, The Ritual, and Hereditary!
