Mission Statement

Our mission is to confront the silence around loss, and to explore the unspoken burdens of grief within the Asian American community. Tradition and modernity mesh together. This story explores how culture shapes not only who we are, but the ways we love and heal.

The Story

We follow Matt and Alice, two Vietnamese-American artists who get engaged after a passionate eight-month chapter, and start to drift apart after experiencing a miscarriage. This movie shows both perspectives and drives empathy for each story, revealing that love is not black and white.

MATT, 30 struggles through the devastating reality of preparing to navigate a subject, only to realize that it is taboo within both your culture and yourself. He is an entirely supportive and starry-eyed potential father, yet completely at a loss for how to support his grieving fiancée.

ALICE, 27 grows resentful of Matt, unwilling to communicate her needs to him. The more Matt freezes up on how to take care of Alice and grows unable to speak to her, the more she keeps her words to herself. Her heart is full of injustice.

All I'm Good For is a story that explores the complex beauty of falling in love and the quiet devastation of falling apart. What can a couple do when they feel their love slipping away, and it feels like both of their faults?

With a lack of Vietnamese American representation in mainstream media, this film pushes for deeper explorations into what it means to be, specifically, Vietnamese. Matt and Alice are products of their upbringings. Where you were born versus what you were raised with are two different scenarios, and each one affects how one navigates hardships.

The team also wanted to bring awareness to the common, but swept under the rug, journey of a mother's miscarriages. The more we start the conversation of what you would have done differently than the characters, the more we can shine a light onto the taboo itself.

From the emotional feel of Blue Valentine and stylistic approach of Buffalo '66. After one night of filming with our 2nd chemistry test, this is what the team can bring. Let us bring you a whole movie.
