The Story
American Stream is a microbudget indie comedy that chronicles the "rise" and fall of Kyle Jordan, a 20 something college drop out with dreams of making it big as a live streamer. In his quest for online fame, he'll turn his back on everyone and everything he holds dear to him, all presented in real time through a series of live streams, featuring a live chat full of fans and haters alike. American Stream offers a darkly comedic look at the wild world of streaming culture, made with the same DIY mindset the medium was born from.

The film was shot over the course of three years, with $50,000 raised by friends and family. It was made by a group of first time filmmakers, right out of college, desperate to make their first film together. It was shot entirely on webcams and iPhones, to mimic the look and feel of a live stream, and keep the budget low. It takes place entirely on a desktop computer, and incorporates a live chat, to make the audience feel like they are watching a real stream.
The film also features a cast of real life streamers, playing themselves. Streamers such as Will Neff, Ludwig, CerSpence, and more appears throughout the film, offering advice to our "hero" as he navigates the strange world of streaming.

After working on and off for just over three years, we completed work on the film in the summer of 2025. All $50,000 we initially raised for the film went into the production, leaving us no room in our budget for our festival run. We are asking for donations that will go towards covering the various costs of film festivals, such as festival applications, airfare, hotels, and marketing.
We've put everything we have into this film, and we need your help to get it across the finish line.

Festival Applications
Costs $1,000
While we were able to secure a few waivers, a majority of the festivals we still want to apply to require us to pay the application fee.
Hotels and Airfare
Costs $1,500
We've already been accepted into a handful of festivals across the country, but we can't afford to fly out to them without your help.
Digital Storage Costs

Part of the funds will need to go towards the sending/storing of the film, specifically getting hard drives to create DCP's to send out.
