Mission Statement

AMNESIA is the culmination of nearly four years at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and thirteen years of filmmaking experience from Aidan LeTendre. This short film is inspired by classic thrillers and influenced by the likes of David Fincher and Bong Joon-Ho.

The Story

A young man, OLIVER VILLIERS (27), wakes to the gruesome sight of his dead girlfriend, KATY FEIG (26), and struggles to recollect the events of the night before. Oliver's lifelong friend, THOMAS GEMEO (27), shows up at his apartment, and the two discuss the best course of action.

AMNESIA is a thriller short film written by Steven J. LeTendre and Aidan L. LeTendre, the first official collaboration between the father/son duo. Please enjoy the first page of the screenplay, included below.

AMNESIA is my final student film and the completion of my film and television production work at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. But, perhaps more importantly, it will mark the beginning of my life in the film industry. At its core, AMNESIA explores themes of self-preservation and the incredible (or excessive) lengths individuals go to uphold their image. I have always been interested in telling stories that leave you questioning or wanting more, keeping you on the edge of your seat. Thrillers and stories with obsessive protagonists are among my favorite elements in cinema.

One of the reasons why AMNESIA is particularly special is that it was co-written with my dad. While my dad has been a guiding force in several of my short films, providing screenwriting advice, helping with titles, or occasionally sharing the screen, this project celebrates our first official collaboration—hopefully, the first of many. I am thrilled to share my work on AMNESIA with you, extending my heartfelt appreciation to my crew, friends, and family for joining me in crafting a satisfying third act in this chapter of my filmmaking journey.

Our crew is graduating soon. AMNESIA will serve as our final student film and an opportunity to establish ourselves as creative and capable artists as we break into the film industry post-graduation.
