THE STORY
ANEMOIA: "Nostalgia for a time you’ve never known."
To combat her anxiety-induced psychological disorders, Danielle takes her therapist’s advice and finds something productive to focus her attention on – a stationary bike. As she rides, Danielle soon discovers that it transports her to a place where her insecurities manifest as 1950’s housewives. They are beautiful, charming, and manicured. One dutiful housewife in particular stands out to her: Rose.
Danielle soon becomes obsessed with this alternate, dreamlike reality and spends every waking moment on her new bike. Eventually, the housewives accept her into their inner circle. As she falls in deeper and deeper with the wives and this new world, Danielle realizes this place is not what it seems.

WHO ARE WE?
Juice Box Films is an award-winning independent production company by women, for women. Our team established Juice Box Films after seeing a gap in women-lead independent productions in the Atlanta film community. We are determined to develop quality films that prioritize the care of our cast and crew, making an impact on our community and the collaborators who make them possible.
Your contribution to ANEMOIA will directly support our production team, equipping us with the necessary tools to tell this story.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
This is a story whose main character is devastating in her universality. She is someone we know: a friend, a relative, a partner, ourselves. The stigma of mental illness, particularly with women, bleeds through all cultural and societal barriers. ANEMOIA takes a peek into the psychological and emotional turmoil that is mirrored in our everyday lives through feelings of guilt, fear, and abuse.
ANEMOIA is a daring reflection of our subconscious desire to become unbound. It addresses the danger of suppression in gender roles, drawing great attention to the damage of illusionary perfection. Contributing to our film helps fill a gap in unmet narratives surrounding mental health and gender roles.
Thanks in advance for your support of ANEMOIA.
THE CAST

DANIELLE will be played by Jamie Neumann.

ROSE will be played by Tyner Rushing.

MOOD & TONE
ANEMOIA is a psychological horror/ thriller which dives into the internal struggles of our lead character as she bounces between two visually and tonally distinct worlds.
REALITY: muted colors, oppressive darkness, blasé tones.
Danielle's present day reality lacks beauty, lacks life, creating an impersonal almost remote world.

FANTASY: crisp black and white, lively, precise as the picture-perfect women within it.
This fantasy exists as a black and white vision. A showy tupperware party dreamscape, rife with optimism.
THE LAST CHAPTER
Through the use of stylistic elements drawn from methods of live performance such as movement and devised theatre, we will explore Danielle’s submersion into an alternate world, further splitting apart her sense of reality. The unified creation of the ensemble’s physical dramaturgy will further support the narrative, building specificity of time, status, and gender roles. We watch Danielle's realities begin to crack as they collide, creating a sense of destruction and the stylized physical embodiment of her psychosis. As we begin to strip away the façade and glamor of the 1950’s sentiment of perfection, we are overcome with the terror in the presence what lies beneath.
BUDGET
There are costs everywhere when you are making a film — from location fees, to production insurance, to meals and craft services, it all adds up. We will ensure Covid Safety by requiring all crew and talent wear PPE while on set- these costs are included in set operations. Above is a breakdown of what we need to bring ANEMOIA to life.

Starting off as a Set PA on a major studio film at seventeen, Hannah is adept at leading crews with her extensive knowledge of the ins and outs of Film and Television productions.
