Our team is a collective of award-winning independent filmmakers and creatives local to the San Francisco Bay Area. Our director wrote Angrboða, inspired by his own life experience, and funded production with his own savings. We're aiming to raise funds in order to get our project through post.

Mission Statement

We shot Angrboða as a proof-of-concept to fund a feature. By completing the film, and achieving a festival circuit run, you'll be giving us a chance to develop a feature-length version, and find a platform distributor, where we believe this story will truly shine and find an audience.

The Story

Angrboða is a goddess of Norse mythology. She represents grief, and suffering, but beyond that little is known about her. In a story that revolves around loss and grief, she resides at the core of our story.

Christopher Jones wrote the script for Angrboða in the Fall of 2023, inspired by his deep love for Norse mythology, accompanied by a desire to shoot a film that focused on the concepts of familial loss and processing grief. Chris is a filmmaker who worked himself out of homelessness between the ages of 16-24. He worked tirelessly to find housing, and any kind of work he could get on production sets in Los Angeles and San Francisco. After 10 years of commercial productions, Chris was finally able to fund his own project- and so Angrboða came into being!

Chris grew up with a deep love for the horror genre, and wanted to pay tribute to the filmmakers who inspired his work- specifically the strange, and wonderful, niche of horror on the California Coast. Film provided an escape from some of life's hardships, and Chris wanted to turn his experience into stories of hope and forgiveness for his audience.Chris hired his longtime friend, Sara-Jean Bartky, to play the lead of Lucia; Chris had promised Sara-Jean, over a decade ago, that he would bring her onto a film of his, after seeing her perform in a local theatre production. For the supporting role of Joseph, Chris reached out to legendary actor Paul Schulze, who has appeared in such classics as The Sopranos, The Expanse, Rambo, and more, to bring his presence to the film.

The cast is filled out by terrific performers such as Shannin Stein, Sara Lee, and Tori Zanoni. With the cast assembled, Chris hired on a crew local to the Bay Area- all of whom he considers close friends- with a long list of filmmaking accolades and experience, as well as some up-and-comers; Chris values empowering people on set, who are looking for their first chance on a film set, and it is profoundly important to him that he give opportunities to young filmmakers.

Production look place at the end of April, with a few pickups at the end of August.

With stellar performances, and a crew that helped to craft a heartbreaking, terrifying film, we're looking to fund our ambitions to get this project across the finish line and into film festivals. Thank you for your contributions.
