The Story
ANON is a comedy about confrontation and minding your own business.
It's about sex work and anonymous 12-step programs and it's funny.
Every time 12-step programs are depicted on screen they look sad and/or boring.
Someone is forced to be in a gymnasium with ugly fold up chairs sitting next to an old man who is coughing up mucus and talking about his wife leaving him because he's gross.
The characters wish they were dead. And it's depressing.
But what happens before the meeting?
ANON IS...
GIRLS,
but they're in their 30's and they're alcoholics and they're gay.
It's THE INVITE,
if a sex worker was confronted by his client at an anonymous meeting.
It's SHIVA BABY,
if the sugar baby was an escort and the shiva was a 12-step meeting.
STORY
At an anonymous 12-step meeting an escort bumps into his client who was using the night before. Or was he?
Our team is making something funny and specific about what it means to live in grey areas.
TIMELINE:
Fundraising through August.
Pre-Production through September.
Shooting October.
Post Production til December.

Taking this project from pre-production all the way to festivals. They do everything behind the scenes that makes the movie actually happen.

About This Team
Matt LeGrande (Writer/Director) is a stand-up comedian and writer born and raised in Indonesia.
He has been featured on Netflix is a Joke, Sirius XM, was a "Comic to Watch" at the NY Comedy Festival, and he once shot a pilot with Donald Glover but it never got picked up but he knows people who worked on the production side of things and they can verify that he is not lying.
Elizabeth Valenti (Producer) is a producer, actor, and casting director from New Jersey with a BFA from Boston University. The short Achiever, which she produced with Madhouse Films, premiered at SXSW this year. She recently released her short Puppy Love that she co-wrote, produced, and starred in. It won several awards on the festival circuit, making it Oscar qualifying. She also produced the short film Other Other, written/directed by Mohamad El Masri (Severance), starring Sosie Bacon and Scoot McNairy. You can watch that short here on Short of the Week! She just wrapped the festival circuit with films Long Pork, starring Lena Headey and Marc Menchaca; Blood Boys, starring Booboo Stewart and Jamie Clayton; and The Music Store which is officially Oscar qualifying for 2027. She recently started her production company Vivid Dreamer Productions.
Griffin Pocock (Producer)
Griffin Pocock is a television producer based in Pasadena, California, best known for his work on Nathan for You and The Eric Andre Show. Over the past decade, he’s helped bring ambitious television projects from concept to delivery.
Anya Solotaire (Producer) is a film, podcast, and live event producer living in LA. Recently, she produced the live comedy talk show, Sammy Tonite with Sammy Mowrey, and the premiere of the new play, TERAS by Giorgis Despotakis. She has developed several podcasts and live shows with the production company DSP, including Matt's podcast, On God. She loves working on that project with him, and is excited to get started on the next!
Greg LeFevre (Director of Photography) was born and raised in Louisiana’s Cajun Country, Gregory LeFevre attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He honed his craft working as a gaffer on both narrative and commercial projects before becoming a cinematographer. He works in narrative, commercials and music videos, and his work has been shown at film festivals such as SXSW and Cannes among others. An active member of the International Cinematographers Guild IATSE 600, LeFevre is a multifaceted director of photography with a sharp eye who carefully builds a story in every frame he shoots. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife and their cat, Duke.
