"I really hate the word ‘diversity,’ it suggests something…other. As if it is something…special. Or rare,” -Shonda Rhimes When people watch our film, they will see a cast that resembles the REAL WORLD, which isn't ONE color. The same thing goes for behind the camera. We don't need to ask, we create!About The Project
Summer of 2016, the writer/producer, Adrianna Cherelle, was going through a breakup. During a pep talk with her mother, her mother told her, "You are not the architect of a man's life."

"Architect Blues" is a homage to all of the black woman who put their jobs, family, love life and worldy issues before their own personal health and self-realization. We follow a 24 year old Master's of Urban Architecture student, Imara Jones who is hit with a case of ARCHITECT BLUES. What's architect blues you ask? It's when you realize that you have worked on every other blueprint in life except your own. It's when you forget to look and SEE yourself in the mirror everyday and encourage, love, and reassure yourself. Will Imara's observation of the black woman around her lead her to begin to work on sketch of her life?

Writer's Note:
I wrote this as a form of therapy and love letter to myself. At 23, I realized that I was the result of what other people thought I should be and had no idea how to be myself. As people read the script, their reaction and feedback made me realize I couldn't be selfish and keep this to myself. I want "Architect Blues" to help people, black women especially, take the time to know, understand and love themselves and to be the architect of their own lives first! I also dedicate this film to the black woman in my life that I watched take a back seat in their own lives. Thank you in advance for your support and interest in our film.
