The Story

When high school senior Bella finds out she's pregnant with her ex-one-night-stand Noah's child, she ropes him into a 600-mile road trip from Texas to the nearest abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas, forcing them to confront their clashing beliefs, unresolved feelings, and a series of absurd detours along the way.

No matter your political opinions, we can all agree that America is in an intense, increasingly polar state right now. What was once celebrated as the "age of information" has alarmingly shifted into an "age of misinformation." Whether it be Al, immigration, or even abortion, we can all find something to argue about.
We believe that open discussion is the bedrock of democracy. With this film, we aim to highlight the importance of thoughtful dialogue and the distinctive strength of a nation where disagreement doesn't have to mean division, and understanding doesn't have to require agreement.

After high school senior Bella finds out she is pregnant with her ex-one-night-stand Noah's child, she ropes him into a 600 mile road trip from Houston, Texas to Wichita, Kansas... to the nearest abortion clinic. With limited time, no plan, and totally conflicting beliefs on the whole thing, Bella and Noah set off for Kansas, navigating small town diners, gas stations bathrooms, rundown motels, and their own messy history. Along the way, they encounter strangers, unexpected detours, and moments that force them to confront who they are, what they believe, and what it means to grow up.
What starts as a logistical mission becomes something much more personal as tensions simmer and old dynamics resurface. Set over the course of a few days on the road, Are We There Yet? is a coming-of-age "traumedy" about navigating big decisions, differing beliefs, and facing the hard realities of growing up with uncertain futures.
