SCRIPT:

Hi! I am Lorin Davis. Thank you so much for checking out our campaign!

I was inspired to write Auditory Problems by my own experience with misophonia (strong aversive reactions to certain sounds such as chewing, breathing or tapping, etc.) I KNOW . . . c'mon! How can you avoid those things?! There is no doubt that everyone can relate to at least one character in this film--whether you suffer from misophonia, or you have a relationship with a misophonia sufferer (it can be a challenge for this person too). I don't think anyone would describe misophonia as fun, but in this film our aim is to not only offer insight into misophonia, but to also find the humor in misophonia, because if we can't laugh at ourselves . . . well, I don't know. Let's just lighten up and laugh at ourselves! As I began to assemble our team, I first learned that our sound designer's wife suffers from misophonia. I then discovered that our sound mixer's partner also suffers misophonia, and the list has grown from there! Sound is almost like another character in this story which is why, in addition to a superb cast, we've assembled a top-notch sound team. We intend to give the viewer a real misophonia experience as they travel with Lisa through her life, encountering ALL THE SOUNDS, and then relishing in the relief and satisfaction of making them stop! We're all really excited to make and share this story and we hope you'll join us on the journey, no matter how loudly you chew your food!

CAST:

I first worked with our lead actress, Richelle Meiss over a decade ago on the web-series, written by Richelle, "ISSUES." Since then she has gone on to do stand-up, commercials, film, television shows and she has even written and starred in acclaimed comedy musicals. Her sense of comedy is innate and she's such a fun talent to work with and watch! How grateful we are to have her playing LISA in "AUDITORY PROBLEMS!"

Also playing a key role in "AUDITORY PROBLEMS" is another comic genius, Meredith Morton, as DR. ELAINE FUCHS. Meredith, with her incredible timing, has been the comic relief in countless commercials, as well as in film and television. She too happens to be a fantastic writer. We're so happy that she's agreed to join us!

Some of those items include: a large portion of our post-production services, props, costumes and locations, to name a few. Here is a breakdown of what remains of our funding needs. (*If we raise over our goal we will be able to pay our actors as well as festival submissions fees.)
