Mission Statement

We are very proud to say that our project is wonderfully represented in many aspects of diversity. Our cast and crew is 90% female and together we will be bringing to life a LGBQT story about love and acceptance.

The Story

The story
Our story begins with Aurora waking up in an unfamiliar and vast landscape. As she navigates thru this surreal place she encounters what seems like memories, first with her mother and then with her lover Phillipa. As she begins to remember, we get a peek into a not so distant future. Aurora's story is a stunning glimpse into unconventional love, pain and the mysteriousness of science.
Inspiration
The inspiration for Aurora came to Paulina  Manseau, the writer, in a dream. She has also been fascinated by the possibilities of cryopreservation and so she decided to lace this idea with her lifelong love for fairy tales, in this case, Sleeping Beauty.
The goal for the film is to make one visually stunning representation of love, surrealism and the future.

Our characters
"Aurora" has been seeking her mother's love unsuccesfully for a while. She lacks self esteem which is deeply rooted in her mother's approval. She has done well for herself but that hasn't garnered her the acceptance she desperately seeks.

"Phillipa" is the lover and partner of Aurora. She is responsible, with a good head on her shoulders and wise beyond her years. She is strong enough to let go even if that means breaking her own heart.

"Mother" was brought up in a traditional blue collar family. Her approach to her children is a direct result of her own upbringing which lacked love and understanding. She rejects her daughter based on her own predjudices.
