The Story
Bahamian Hollering follows Moss, a failed actor who is paid to cry at funerals. As long as he’s busy performing grief for others, he doesn’t have to face his own. A perceptive priest, Father Gabriel, finds Moss’s methods insincere and seeks to force him to confront his past.
Growing up, you’re never taught exactly how to deal with tragedy or process the grief that stems from it. Unfortunately, there’s no concrete answer. Different people have different methods. Some are honest, many are tragic, and a few even slip into the comedic. Almost all happen in the silent moments at home while showing a completely different face to others. Exploring those types of methods is exactly what Bahamian Hollering sets out to achieve. It shows the duality of humor and sorrow, how they can go hand in hand, and how lying to yourself can be just as dangerous as any other lie. Moss has meticulously built a system of avoidance in his life and career that allows him to escape the hard truths. But what happens when he’s seen, and that system starts to crack?
Bahamian Hollering is a special story to me as a creative. Throughout my time at Emerson College, I found myself trying to find my specific voice for telling a story. I wanted to lean into absurd comedy while also pursuing deeper themes and character study. Now that I've graduated, this proof of concept is the perfect form of media to prove that I can establish that style. The days of making class projects are done. Moving forward, I need to pursue feature-length productions, and this project is the first step in that journey.
The film is a contained, cinematic proof of concept for a feature film with clear audience potential. The short demonstrates tone, world, and marketability while standing alone as a festival-ready film. With the proper success, Bahamian Hollering can be adapted into a full-length film!
At the current moment, the sixth draft of the Bahamian Hollering feature screenplay is in the works. But that script can't be adapted just yet, so this proof of concept takes priority. The story is simplified into a short film page count. A crew is being established, and talent is being cast, but in order for the projected production date to come to fruition, I need your help! With proper donations, a late summer shoot will take place so that the concept can move into the post-production stage. Pay attention to the incentive tiers listed on the page because you may get advance material for the project as early as the Fall season!

Born and raised in Boston, MA, Hunter has had a love for film ever since he was a child playing with action figures. In 2025, he graduated from Emerson College and has been pursuing his most important project yet. Adrian Calderon, Gaffer
One of Emerson's busiest workers, Adrian has devoted himself to his craft. First in school, and now continuing that artistic style in his career in the Big Apple. His understanding of lighting and contrast has been built over time through countless sets working electric. Leo Cross, Assistant Camera
With a strong background in the industry since their youth, Leo Cross knows it inside and out. His never-ending work ethic continuously pushes him to greater heights in film as he pursues his own creative endeavors.
