The Story
The Story:
Coming off a recent breakup and job layoff, Hannah Keyes takes a Greyhound bus from Seattle to Portland to make a weekend visit to her family. However, she quickly realizes that the anxiety she was so trying to avoid, has followed her home. As the weekend progresses, it is made evident that Hannah's mother, Sheryl, is now unsupportive of her daughter's continued pursuits of becoming a published novelist. Over breakfast with the family, Sheryl reveals that she thinks it’s time for Hannah to give up on her lifelong dream. As the tensions continue to rise, Hannah recognizes that she is on the cusp of a full-blown panic attack and leaves.

The Why:
Mental health can be a stigmatized and belittled experience. In today's day and age, anxiety is reflected upon differently by various generations. Our goal is to offer a narrative that is both honest and true to the people that struggle with anxiety and to bring insight to the families going through it.
The Setting:
Our story is set in a picturesque suburban Portland neighborhood. Being her childhood home, it’s always bittersweet for Hannah to come back to it, as it represents a time capsule of what could have been.

The beginning of our film opens with our protagonist on a greyhound bus traveling from Seattle to Portland. For Hannah, even the smallest things can bring the biggest waves of anxiety. And though a bus might seem like the most reasonable means of traveling home, the loud noises, tight spaces and eccentric passengers make for a breeding ground of Hannah’s inner distress.
Trying to compose herself from a panic attack, Hannah finds herself walking to her childhood park. In contrast to her house and the bus, the park provides a refuge and escape. Growing up, it was always the place where Hannah went to feel the most like herself.
