The Story

reelmavens is a production company founded by women seeking artistic empowerment through independent filmmaking.  We encourage diversity and the participation of women in filmmaking, both in front of and behind the camera.

We produce work that explores the human condition and challenges traditional gender roles.  We prosper by collaborating with like-minded artists and by pooling our resources to thrive artistically, socially and financially.

Blackwell Summers Mysteries is the first passion project of reelmavens.  In taking on an initiatve to hire a predominately female crew, this project exemplifies our values and what we hope to accomplish as filmmakers.

We are storytellers who intend to imagine and create a world never before seen, while creating opportunites for other like-minded women in a male dominated industry.
