Mission Statement
The Story
BORDER'D is a web series that centers on a trio of Hispanic siblings who reunite in their hometown when their dad dies. During their reunion, they are forced to confront their ignored culture, past failures and hidden secrets.

Our Story
This show centers on a large percentage of minorities that are not accurately portrayed in media: Latinx individuals. Specifically, Latinx individuals that exist on the border between two cultures knowing they will never please either one. This is a situation familiar to so many and is the reason why we believe this story needs to be told now more than ever before.
We began the process of making the show back in January 2018. Lauryn Lugo, Adrian and Andrew Nuño wrote the pilot episode based on their experiences growing up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and then brought together a crew and cast to shoot the pilot episode in September 2018. By April 2019, the pilot episode was complete and was picked up by streaming platform Open TV which premiered the pilot at the Chicago Cultural Center on April 16th, 2019.

Mission Statement
Coming from a predominantly white suburb, we want to create a show that speaks to people like us. Folks that grew up on the borderline of two different cultures and never quite felt accepted by either one. All of the content we’ve seen growing up, even the content with Latinx characters, never fully got people like us right. This is why we’ve taken it upon ourselves to make this show. With a cast and crew comprised of LGBTQ people, folks of different ethnicities and even immigrants with Latinx people in charge, we hope to deliver just that to empower people in our positions while also serving to educate Latinx and non-Latinx people alike about how we live our lives.
Where We’re At Right Now
Since the pilot's premiere, we have literally taken Border'd from coast to coast where we showed Border'd at Stareable Fest 2019 in Brooklyn, NY where it was nominated for Best Long Form Drama and where we represented Border'd at the 2019 NALIP Media Summit in Los Angeles, CA discussing our show with everyone ranging from directors for NBC to writers who were put on the inaugural Latinx Black List. In addition, the creators of Border'd were invited to participate in a two-day intensive by the Sundance Institute and Open TV where Border'd was included in a slate of content shown to executives from MACRO Studios, Warner Bros. Stage 13, and Color Creative.

Where We Want to Go
Now that we have gotten Border'd in front of just about everyone we can think of, we are ready to move forward with a full first season. The scripts have been written, the talks have been had, and we couldn't be more excited to continue this journey bringing Latinx representation to television. We are hoping to raise $15,000 to shoot five more episodes of content starting in early 2020 for a premiere of the full first season in July 2020.
Nothing that we have achieved has ever been done alone and we thank each and every one of you who has supported our efforts in the past and hope you can help us continue to bring this show to life.
