This isn't just another passion project. In a world where you can't turn on the television without needing to stop, skip, or mute something, this project is the first step in bringing CLEAN shows into your home that aren't just religious, comedic, or designed for young children.
The Story
"Bound In Blood" is an episodic mini-series set in the modern day.
Jess Argos is a 16-year-old supernatural hunter. All she's known is going from town to town, hunting the Greek monsters that plague her world. But she doesn't mind. In fact, she loves it. Her biggest dream is to one day pass her agoge, earning her Hunter's Mark and officially becoming one of Ares' hunters, just like her parents.
But everything changes when her father, David, receives a frightening visitor: The Oracle of the Gods. The Oracle reveals that the Olympians have become aware of a prophecy that David tried to hide. A prophecy that states that his daughter is the "Warborn," the long awaited "Destroyer of the Gods" destined to bring about the Greek apocalypse known as the eskhatos...that is, unless the Greek gods can kill her first.
Out of options, David flees with Jess to his hometown in the hopes that his estranged family will be able to help them but their welcome is even colder than he imagined it would be. Now, with Olympians on their trail and a lifetime of bad blood between David and his family, will the Argos Family be able to come together in time to save Jess?
Why "Bound In Blood?" Because it's the show we always wanted growing up! A quality, action-packed story that you don't need to turn off the second your parents or children walk into the room. Not only that but we know there is an audience for this show. "Bound In Blood" takes inspiration from shows like Vampire Diaries and Supernatural with a healthy dose of Percy Jackson. All of these performed so well in their respective media that they led to the creation of one or more spin-off series as well as an entire franchise in the case of Percy Jackson. We expect no less from "Bound In Blood."
But this isn't just a series we chose based on the market potential. At its core, "Bound In Blood" is a story of family, love, and relationships. It's a lens through which we can see our own relationships and learn what it takes to maintain the connections that bind us together. In an age where friendships are fleeting, marriages are dissolving, and families are giving up on each other, we need a series that inspires us to come together and nurture those connections. Trust. Forgiveness. Healing. This is what it's all about.
Movies and television have the power to change behavior like almost nothing else can. Entire generations have been shaped by what they watched on the screen. The old adage "You are what you eat" goes double for film. Our world will become what we see on TV. We can't wait around any longer just hoping that those with the power to shape our world do so according to what is right and good.
For example, if you're at all familiar with the supernatural teen drama genre, then you'll probably know that it is notorious for its illegal underage drinking and drug use, the suspicious lack of adult authority figures, and don’t forget all the spontaneous sex these minors can’t seem to stop themselves from indulging in! Hollywood has glamorized and depicted this behavior so much that many teens (and adults) have begun to think that these are normal things that every teenager does. And even if this is the unfortunate reality for some teens, shouldn't we be showing future generations what the world could be like instead of just submitting to how it is?
If that weren't enough, by including these unnecessary elements Hollywood limits who their shows are accessible to. They seem to believe making it more "adult" is what will draw people in.
But we're here to prove that wrong!
At Cooper Home Entertainment our mission is to create exciting, quality shows and movies that you never need to stop, skip, or mute. When you watch something with the Cooper Home “C” on it, that’s our promise to you that there will be no swearing, no nudity, and no graphic content of any kind. But that doesn’t always mean it has to be a kid’s show. In fact, younger kids will likely find "Bound In Blood" a bit scary and some of the subject matter a little too “grown up” to understand.
There has never been a better time to launch a show like this! Families are desperate for quality content that they can watch together and teens are hungry for a show that excites and entertains them. "Bound In Blood" is designed to give both of these groups what they want.
Ok, fine. Maybe "Bound In Blood" isn’t for you. Then why should you STILL support the show? Every movement has to start somewhere. "Bound In Blood" is our starting point. By backing Bound In Blood, you are giving us the support we need to make even more shows. We have plans to make everything from fairytales to superheroes to dystopian wastelands. Additionally, our goal is to create a work environment as safe as our shows. We want to create a business that makes the film industry accessible for the first time. The people we work with gain invaluable skills that will allow them to succeed in one of the hardest industries on the planet. Your support will enable them to pursue their dreams and their passions without needing to compromise their safety or their values.
We take our jobs very seriously. This is not only our livelihood, but it's a cause that we will zealously pursue to the end of the world. To prove that, we have already finished principal photography on the pilot (completely self-funded). But we're not pitching an episode to you: we're promising a series.
We are not going anywhere and we hope you will join the journey. About This Team
We're the Cooper Family! As a family of 4 boys (poor mom!) we grew up loving movies, television, and video games but it was always so hard to find shows we were allowed to watch that we were actually interested in. So I guess it's no surprise we all grew up and decided to do something about it!
We started out in the industry around 2020 with a web series called "Coping with Normal." At first it was just something fun we could all do together but ultimately it evolved and in 2022 we decided to start taking filmmaking seriously. We took what we had learned from our web series and developed 6 proof of concepts that we had our audiences vote on in November 2022 (the winner of which ultimately led to the creation of "Bound In Blood!") Since then, we've been featured at the Zion's Indie Film Festival and have filmed another short, "The Framed Soul," and an entire feature film "Night of Wrath."
Our cast and crew is filled with people who believe in the cause and sacrifice their time, talents, and energy to create shows you never need to stop, skip, or mute. Each of them has been chosen because they have a passion to make it in this industry but, like many of us out there, have struggled to "break in." So we take the opportunity to mentor, guide, and support everyone who joins the family. Ultimately, this crowdfunding is for them. They deserve so much more for the sacrifices they have made and we want to give it to them!
Not only that but this is our livelihood and by supporting us you are not only helping us make a living but helping change the world one show at a time.
